Situated on the historic wine estate Constantia Uitsig, The Bike Park has grown in park features and popularity since first opening its doors. Designed by former Downhill World Champion Chris Nixon, the tracks are ideal for honing one’s bike handling skills and consists of a pump track, dirt jump lines, rock gardens, narrow suspended paths, sand pit, drop offs and a 50 metre skybridge that sits 4 metres off the ground. Catering for all bike riders from beginners learning the ropes to experienced cyclists looking to sharpen their skills.
In total, the bike park holds 2.8 km of clearly marked and well maintained tracks and trails.
Services
Bike & Protective Gear Hire
A selection of bikes are available for hire at a cost of R50 for 1 hour or R80 for 2 hours. Protection gear (including knee pads, elbow pads and helmets) are also available for hire.
Skills Coaching
A former SA BMX Champion, SA Cross-Country Champion, SA Downhill Champion and Downhill World Champion, Chris Nixon is passionate about honing and developing the skills required to take your cycling to the next level. Lessons are priced per person or if you would prefer group sessions are available as well to help keep the cost down. Individual lessons – R350/lesson, 2 people – R250 each, 3 people – R200 each, 4/5 people – R150 each. Advance booking is essential.
Bike Repair
A fully equipped workshop on site provides friendly, professional and affordable help. Basic bike services cost R350 and R250 for kid’s bikes.
Bike Shop
Consumables, spares and a range of cycling protective gear are available on site. There’s also a good cup of coffee or cappuccino on offer for those early morning sessions.
Kid’s Parties
With a designated party area beside the tracks, parties at The Bike Park offer loads of good, clean fun and adventure for all. During the weekends, a maximum of 15 cyclists per party is permitted, at a cost of R50/child.
Access to The Bike Park and all tracks costs R50 per day, or R30 off-peak (between 8-9 am daily) with no charge for spectators. An annual membership is also available at a cost of R750 per person per year. Cash and cards accepted on site.
