2013 Road World Championships SA Team Announced

Cycling South Africa’s Road Cycling Commission has great pleasure in announcing that the following riders have been selected to represent South Africa at the 2013 UCI Road World Championships, taking place in Toscana, Italy from 22-29 September.

Elite Men:
Daryl Impey (Road Race)
Reinhardt Janse van Rensburg (Time Trial; Road Race)
Jay Thomson (Time Trial; Reserve – Road Race)

U23 Men:
Louis Meintjes (TT; RR)
JC Nel (TT; RR)
Johan van Zyl (RR; Reserve – TT)
Willie Smit (Reserve – RR)

Junior Men:
Ryan Felgate (TT; RR)
Ivan Venter (TT; RR)
Jevandre Pauls (RR)
Chris Jooste (Reserve – RR)

Elite Women:
Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio (RR)
An-Li Kachelhoffer (Reserve – RR)

Junior Girls:
Heidi Dalton (TT; RR)

Team Manager: Kevin Campbell (Team MTN-Qhubeka)
Assistant Manager: Marnitz Aucamp

Cycling SA’s Road Commission has arranged with Team MTN-Qhubeka to use their infrastructure whilst in Italy, and will benefit from the services of their team manager, mechanic, soigneur and vehicles. On behalf of Cycling SA, we extend a huge thank you to team principal Douglas Ryder and his team for their offer.

We wish the National team all the best in their efforts and achievements.

Three weeks before the start of it....only one lady competing or only one qualified?

Daryl wins SA TT championships, and the yellow jersey and he's not doing the TT?

 

Reinhardt Janse van Rensburg had a "lackluster season this far.

 

As for the woman, on one year we go from six to one ... way to go CSA
