BPCT will be led by former winner Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio, Clara Koppenburg, Doris Schweizer and Sharon Laws.

“We’re looking forward to racing in South Africa for the first time,” Team Manager, Thomas Campana said. “This event is important for Ashleigh so we’ve sent a team there to support her. We’re grateful to the organisers for the invite extended to us and we’re looking to make them proud with some great racing at this world class event. They’re one of the biggest events in the world and to make this investment in women’s cycling is great. We’re more than happy to support their endeavours in growing women’s cycling.”

Several other international teams will also be taking part as well local and invitational teams from Botswana, Eritrea, Israel, Namibia, Rwanda and Mauritius. The Momentum 947 Cycle Challenge takes place in November in Johannesburg every year with 33000 participants in the road race.

“We’re delighted to have the Bigla Pro Cycling Team join us this year,” race organiser, Tanya Harford said. “It’s that time of the year when Cycle Challenge takes over Johannesburg and together with our sponsors, we’re particularly excited for the women’s event. As always we’ve got committed media coverage and great TV exposure, all that will aid the development of women’s cycling.”
