According to John Glett, Chief Business Development Officer BMC Switzerland “it is no secret that South Africa is one of the global hot-spots for cross-discipline, competitive cycling. It is a unique market, very focused on premium quality and high performance, therefore perfectly aligned with our brand values. We produce best-in-class bikes for discerning riders, and we see a strong tailwind for our brand when matched with dedicated support and service. We took the decision to change from a distributor-model to a direct one in November 2014 and appointed Herman Bekker to pursue our objectives in the region. The first steps have been made: Bekker has already successfully developed key partnerships in the region, and we are seeking to expand BMC Switzerland to an exclusive network of premium retailers for the coming 2017 season.”

To connect the current and future South African BMC retailers with the roots of the brand, BMC will be hosting an exclusive 2017 Retail Event in Grenchen, Switzerland in mid-July 2016.
