Bridge announces sponsorship of new MTB team

Bridge, a financial services company in the unsecured and short-term loans industry and main sponsor of the Bridge Cape Pioneer Trek, announced its sponsorship of two known professional MTB cyclists.

Team Bridge’s Timo Cooper and Nico Pfitzenmaier made their mark in the South African cycling scene over the past few years.

Youngster, Timo Cooper counts a total of 33 podium finishes over the past 3 years including winning the prestigious 2011 Transbaviaans 24hr Mountain Biking Marathon and obtaining first position at the 2012 Bridge Cape Pioneer Trek, solo category.

Seasoned rider, Nico Pfitzenmaier obtained a total of 42 podium finishes to date including winning the 2012 Bridge Cape Pioneer Trek, veteran category and 24 stage victories in the Absa Cape Epic in the past years.

Pfitzenmaier is a favourite to win the Masters category at this year’s Absa Cape Epic and Cooper aims high in the 2013 MTN National Marathon Series.

Bridge’s CEO, Emile Aldum, explained that sponsoring Pfitzenmaier and Cooper forms part of the company’s brand building strategy. “Sponsoring the Bridge Cape Pioneer Trek has been a great success and the value of these sponsorships can be seen in our company, internally and externally.”

“Entering into sports sponsorships make sense for building our brand and creating phenomenal network opportunities.” Aldum concluded.
