CSA national roll out of UCI Level 1 Coaching Course

· By Press Office · 1 comment

Cycling South Africa’s Coaching Commission is flying out Canadian Elite Master Coach, Houshang Amiri, to deliver three UCI accredited Level 1 Coaching Courses in Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg during the month of April.

Course content has been revised by the UCI since the last course was facilitated in South Africa. Adding to this, the internationally accomplished Olympic and World Championship Coach brings a wealth of knowledge in his field and attendees will garner great value by interacting with him to further their learning experience and grasp concepts.

The entry-level course is open for all coaches and aspiring coaches to attend. Those that successfully complete the course will earn a Level 1 Certificate, which will be issued directly by the UCI. Attendees would do well to complete the entry-level programme, particularly since the Coaching Commission will be following up with a UCI Level 2 Coaching Course later in the year. For the Level 2 Coaching Course, qualification to attend will depend on having a Level 1 Certificate or recognition of prior learning.

The course runs for seven consecutive full days and includes all course material, lectures, lunch and refreshments each day. The cost is R4000.00 per attendee and space is limited to 30 attendees per course:

Monday 6 to Sunday 12 April – Cape Town

Monday 13 to Sunday 19 April – Durban

Monday 20 to Sunday 26 April – Johannesburg

To book your place, please send an email for attention Siphokazi to info@cyclingsa.com indicating your interest to attend. Include a brief motivation and/or a coaching CV, as well as the preferred venue.

All applications will be submitted to the Coaching Commission for final vetting and all successful applicants will be notified by email and requested to make payment for the course to Cycling South Africa.

For further details pertaining to the course, please contact our Head of the Coaching Commission, Mr Mark Carroll, on coaching@cyclingsa.com.
