Durban’s Interprovincial Track Cycling to Attract Top Guns

The KwaZulu-Natal track cycling fraternity will be hosting the KwaZulu-Natal Inter-provincial and Grand Prix at the Cyril Geogehan Track in Durban on Friday 12th and Saturday 13th October 2012.

South Africa’s top track cyclists can be seen in action for honours in the various track cycling events, beginning with the 1500m, Devil, Scratch, Keirin, Team Pursuit, Points 7.5km and Points 10km, Scratch 5km, Team Sprint and Madison 15km on Friday evening.

High end action and excitement continues on Saturday across all the age categories, with men and women racing in the Junior to 60+ categories in the 1500m Race, 15km Scratch race, Sprint and Devil, and the 1500m race, Individual Pursuit, Sprint and 5km Scratch Race respectively.

Schools will also have their time to shine on Saturday when the under-10 to under-16 categories take to the track in the 500m Bunch race, 1500m Bunch race and the 5km Scratch race, with the Para-cyclists taking part in the 500m Time Trial and the 2000m Pursuit.

Entries close on Friday 5th October and no late entries will be accepted. Registration for the Interprov takes place on Friday evening 12 October at 17:00 with racing starting at 18:00; and registration for the Grand Prix is on Saturday 13 October at 09:00 with racing from 10:00.
