The Engen Cycle in the City events will combine the excitement of short circuit racing with festival type entertainment all while taking place from midday and running into the evenings. Spectators won’t be feeling left out and can expect some fun at spectacular settings in the three iconic cities; Pretoria, Durban and Cape Town.

The series of criterium cycling festivals will include live entertainment, craft beer and good market food, as well as tons of inner-city fun. “We are excited about this new format of spectator-friendly racing and we look forward to the next chapter in our continued support of cycling” says Engen Group Sponsorship Manager, Brad Bergh.

The wide appeal of the event is evident with several professional road cycling teams confirming their entries as well as mountain biking legend, Fritz Pienaar challenging local hero and Olympian, Philip Buys to dual it out on the obstacle course in the MTB Elimination Race around the Union Buildings.

To make the event even more attractive for the whole family, SuperSport United will be hosting the kiddie’s corner at the Pretoria leg of the series with some of the players joining in on the fun by entering a team to participate.

This is cycling in its most exciting format which will not only appeal to road cycling enthusiasts, and creates an opportunity for all to race and ride. However, entries are limited per category so enter now to secure your time on the streets as well as your complimentary goodie pouch.
