The evening of Friday 16 December will see the Western Province Track Classic #12 event taking place, which kicks off the track action for the weekend.

Saturday 17 December will welcome the Open Men’s Madison National Championship event, as it was postponed in April this year due to bad weather. There will also be an Open Women’s Madison event – a first time for a National Title.

In between these events, will be smaller competitions and races throughout the day.

On the morning of Sunday 18 December, the Track Inter-provincials will be taking place, where provinces will be competing for the President’s trophy.

Cycling South Africa’s Interim Track Director, Martin van Wyk said: “We are excited to be introducing track cycling’s blue ribbon event to women’s cycling and we encourage ladies to start practising their Madison slings.”
