Haute Cycling at the Tour de Franschhoek

The second Tour de Franschhoek took place on Saturday 22 July and Sunday 23 July. Riders were treated to incredible clear weather and the finest road riding south africa has to offer. The tour coincided with the end of the Tour de France as is the tradition.

The Bike Hub King of the mountains jerseys were one by Jarrod Venter, and Cherise Willeit. They were pushed by the visiting Velokhaya team which the event hosted. The over 85kg Buffalo category was again won by Wolf Stinnes from Dimension data. The Squirt Lube sprint prize went to Grant Scott.

The event included the iconic Franschhoek with timed racing commencing from Haute Cabriere, and then Helshoogte on the Sunday.

Haute Cabriere the home of Pierre Jourdan was the starting point for the racing up the iconic Franschhoek pass on an incredible morning of racing.

Wolf Stinnes from Dimension Data, ups the pace on the climb back to Franschhoek, powered by High 5 the event sponsor. Stinnes went on to defend his Buffalo category title for riders over 85kgs.
