Highlights: Kittel shows early form on first sprint stage

· By Press Office · 0 comments

Taylor Phinney (Cannondale-Drapac) and Yoann Offredo (Wanty-Gobert) spent a wet 200 kilometres in the breakaway only to be caught by the peloton in the final stretch. An untidy sprint ensued with Quick-Step Floors’s Marcel Kittel appearing from the pack when it counted, crossing the line first ahead of Arnaud Démare (FDJ).
