Following in the footsteps of the successful Pretoria Night Rider Series at Rosemary Hill (remember to get your entries in for the next event in Pretoria on Thursday evening!), we have been planning this series for close to 12 months with endless hours of strategizing and chatting to people about what they would like to see happen at an event like this in Joburg.
Over the last 4 months we have been working closely with the team from Heia Safari Ranch and various other role players to ensure that the Jozi Night Rider series offers cyclists an experience 2nd to none.
We have cut, moulded and trimmed a variety of Single Track, Jeep Track, sand Roads and obstacles on the Heia Safari Ranch.
Each meter is new and offers something for everyone.
There will be 3 distances on offer:
3 Km Kiddies Event
The kiddies ride is open and winds down to the famous Lake Heritage, passing through small forest sections and along the dam’s edge.
Interaction with Giraffe, Zebra, Wildebeest and other game is guaranteed. After a small climb back up to the entertainment area, the kiddies will be welcomed home with cheers into the start finish Boma.
The 10km Distance will be a showcase of what Heia Safari has to offer and the ideal event for the social and weekend rider.
With a variety of Single track, Forest Track and Jeep Track ,this ride will give competitors a truly amazing experience.
With only 2 short climbs and no difficult technical sections, it is bound to be a fun night out for the competitors.
Attractions including game, river crossings, fast winding descents and jeep track along Lake Heritage.
Riding at night along this route will take your senses to a new level and is guaranteed to leave you spellbound.
The 20km route has been designed for the little more experienced competitor who is looking for a great route with a slight kick.
With a combination of more than 8km of single-track, undulating routes and long winding descents through the game reserve – as well as a couple of technical hotspots - this track has a bit of everything.
Crossing the dam wall and heading up and through the top part of the reserve will tickle all your senses and get the adrenalin pumping.
We have made every effort to ensure there is something exciting to do for everyone.
The start /finish area is based in the Boma next to the main reception and restaurant.
Some of the attractions include:
