Route descriptions:

The 45km route heads off flat and fast in a Northerly direction and traverses Klapmutskop towards the trails of Delvera. We duck underneath the R44 for a spot of climbing and head to the Simonsberg trails around Uitkyk, Muratie and Delheim Estates. From here we head South and link up with the L’Avenir/Nooitgedacht trail system that takes us to the finish.

With several singletrack sections and 3-4 nice climbs the route offers a nice challenge without going over the top and with the total ascent being around 1100m, we have tried to taper the amount of climbing of which there can be lots in this area. Ascent – 1100m.

Considerably easier than the 45km, the 30km option follows an identical route to Delvera but does not include the climbing of the Simonsberg section. After Delvera, riders flow back across Kromme Rhee and meet up with long route at L’Avenir estate to flow back to the finish. With only 450m of climbing this is a fun ride with beautiful Winelands views. There are a few easy singletrack sections but for the most part the route follows farm roads. Ascent – 454m.

The 13km is a fun flat cruise on and around our new L’Avenir and Nooitgedacht trails with just one or two climbs that will get the heart rate up a bit. There is some fun, easy singletrack sections making the route perfect for beginners. Ascent – 150m.

Family & friends can relax, socialize and enjoy good food, stalls and even a massage while waiting for the prizegiving & lucky draw where great prizes are to be won! Title sponsor, Spur Steak Ranches will also have their jumping castles, facepainters and great food at the finish. Refreshment stations on the routes, medals to all finishers and Coke at the finish as well. Dirtopia Fietswinkel will be at the start to assist with last minute adjustments & supplies.

The first 150 kids (10 & under events) will receive a medal & goody bags from Spur! Prizes include vouchers from Spur, Sportsmans Warehouse and products from Giant bicycles, Falke socks and Cape Storm. Also a Simple Seven bike to be won in the lucky draw!

The event is also a seeding event for Die Burger MTB Challenge 2017.

Late entries will be accepted for all distances at registration on Friday, Saturday & Sunday morning. Please see www.dirtopia.co.za for the schedule and event information or contact info@dirtopia.co.za.
