Prestigious National MTB Series announces new headline sponsor Ashburton Investments

South Africa’s premier marathon mountain biking series the National MTB Series announced their new headline sponsor in Johannesburg, South Africa today. Ashburton Investments entered into an initial three year sponsorship agreement as title sponsor with event organising company Advendurance for the National MTB Series.

Advendurance has become synonymous with bringing world class events and professionalism to mountain biking in South Africa. Having grown the National MTB Series over the past 12 years from when the sport was still in its infancy to internationally acclaimed events with UCI status and some of the biggest one day events in the country making the series the biggest of its kind in the world.

“Mountain biking has come come a long way both in growth in numbers and professionalism and through the partnership with Ashburton Investments on our flagship property we look forward to encouraging further growth and take the National MTB Series to new heights!” said Fritz Pienaar from Advendurance.

According to Ashburton Investments mountain biking is a rapidly growing sport and the profile of participants sits firmly within their target market. “The National MTB Series is a well-established and respected series, which already has a strong following and whichwill allow us a unique platform to engage with our target audience. We have been fortunate to secure the headline sponsorship rights” said Boshoff Grobler, CEO of Ashburton Investments

The Ashburton Investments National MTB Series as it will be known will be more compact in 2015 with 7 events spanning 6 provinces over 8 months. The venue and date announcement will be made shortly with what is rumoured to ring some changes and include UCI status events as in 2014.
