Riders at it again for the USN MTB Cup Series #4

Mountain biking fanatics will once again battle it out for the top spot during the fourth round of the 2013 Ultimate Sports Nutrition (USN) MTB Cup Series. This exciting event takes place at the Big Red Barn, a farm in Sunlawns Estate, Olifantsfontein on Saturday, 08 June 2013, with the first racer heading off at 8:00am.

A few exciting changes have been made to the route. Riders can look forward to more single tracks, river crossings and a rider friendly batch start format will give all riders more flexibility, free flowing tracks and no bunching come race day.

The race caters for riders of all levels with a 50km, 30km, 10km and 2km kids ride.

Dylan Victor, race MC and organiser, comments, “Our biggest priority is to provide riders with an awesome riding experience and a seamless racing environment, which will allow them to enjoy the event and perform at their best.”

“We have therefore introduced a 30 minute time gap between the last batch of 50km and 30km riders to ensure that 30km front riders have a much clearer track. In response to numerous requests from our riders, we have also added a new single speed category for the 50km ride and the remaining events in the series,” explains Dylan.

This is a family event, and as with all of the USN MTB Cup races, the kiddies can look forward to being entertained by a clown and face painter after their 2km race finishes. It will be a short route around the Start/Finish area and will be great for five year old kids and younger.

Current leaders of the USN MTB Cup Series, namely Arno du Toit (ASG Pinarello) (men) and Yolandi du Toit (Bizhub) (ladies), Ben-Melt Swanepoel (Merida), Paul Cordes (ASG Pinarello), Amy McDougall (ASG Pinarello), Jan Withaar (Cyclelab) and Rowan Grobler (USN) (2012 Series winner) are also expected to line up for the 50km ride.

“For those who are serious about their supplementation strategies, USN has launched easy to use and convenient single serving sachet packs of its most popular Performance Range products. With a variety of products suited to every rider, you can now select from Epic Turbo, Epic Pro, Cyto Power HP and Recover Max in sachets. This makes riding with one bottle or tackling the 50km discipline much less daunting knowing you have your supplements close at hand when you get to the water points. There couldn’t be an easier way to excel, perform and recover,” says Dylan.

As always, USN will have energising and refreshing Sports Ener-G at the water points and Spike Juice at the finish.
