Mpumalanga’s popular mountain biking venue always offers thrilling racing in the bush with great effort from the race organisers in their construction of the boardwalks, bush tunnels and bridges. Riders can expect a few river crossings and lung bursting climbs, but the smooth, flowing singletrack makes it all worthwhile in the jam-packed 6.9km lap.

Downhill riders will race along a 1.8km track that the race organisers call “adrenaline madness”. Features on the track include rock gardens, berms, jumps, bridges and some really tight switchbacks to test the riders’ skills.

As with the previous two rounds, cross-country (XCO) and downhill (DHI) riders can accumulate valuable UCI points – the XCO carries a UCI Category 1 rating for the Elite men and women, while the DHI carries a UCI Category 2 rating for the Elite men.

In order for downhill Junior riders to be eligible to earn UCI points, all Juniors need to race in the Elite Category. The UCI Elite Category is 17+ and includes Juniors.

Online entries close on Tuesday, 20 May, and riders who need to enter can click here. Late entries will be accepted at registration.
