· By Matt · 4 comments

Leading mountain biking duo Christoph Sauser and Burry Stander will be back in the saddle this time at the 2012 Contego Wines2Whales MTB Race powered by Maserati.

Starting at the picturesque Lourensford Wine Estate (Somerset West) this coming Friday (09 November 2012) riders will need to complete a sum total of 209km in the saddle before finally crossing the finish line near Onrus Caravan Park on Sunday (11 November 2012).

According to Sauser, riding with Stander means that they will complete each stage quicker than in previous years. “Our strength as a team can be attributed to a combination of things, including commitment, toughness, talent, equipment, team and experience. Both Burry and I are currently in our off season shape, so I doubt we can beat the Cape Boys who are very well prepared. We are however, looking forward to spending more time in the festival village where we can indulge in some good food, although this won’t help much with our off season body weight,” laughs Sauser.
