Hike, bike or run in the Simonsberg region this weekend, as Dirtopia brings you the Delheim Outdoor weekend on the 12th and 13th of November.
Saturday morning trail runners can choose from a 7km or 12km route that will climb in the Conservancy on magnificent trails.
Mountain bikers that want to experience the singletrack trails with their lights, must enter for the Nightride that starts from the estate as the sun sets 19h20 with a 12km route.
But the main focus is Sunday morning for the fat tyre lovers. Ride one of the following fun ride distances: 30km, 12km or 7km or enter for the real fun All Mountain Enduro event. The Enduro has 5 stages in which only the mainly downhill sections are timed. To get to the start of the special stages, you ride socially which makes for a great atmosphere.
The routes climb on the slopes of Simsonberg mountain with fantastic views and fun singletrack sections. Do not miss this celebration of the Stellenbosch outdoors!
All of the Delheim events will offer the participant refreshment stations on the routes with fruit, Powerade, and energy jellies and at the finish there will be a medal for all finishers with a cool drink. Prizes for the top performance in each distance plus great lucky draws that will include wine from the estate, restaurant vouchers, and outdoor merchandise.
Delheim restaurant will have wonderful food on offer from early morning on both days.
Sunday and Monday nights from neighbouring farm, Delvera the hikers will get another chance to see the magnificent views from the top of Klapmutskop. Book for the FALKE Full Moon hike on Monday night 14 November, as Sunday is already sold out. The Super Moon will rise just as the sun has set which is a wonderful way to enjoy your picnic in the outdoors!
Dirtopia Café on Delvera will be open until late for cheese platters and burgers. Permits are always available from the Trail Centre for normal trail riding or walking 7 days a week and even Giant mountain bike hire.
