Brandon Semenuk’s winning runs at the RedBull Joyride and the RedBull District Ride stepped him up from second place overall, to leading the FMB Diamond Series points standings. With one event left in the calendar all eyes are on the current leader to retain his position. Semenuk and the rest of the elite line-up will push the limits of Freeride Mountain Biking once more at the RedBull Rampage this coming weekend.

The RedBull Rampage is a place where heroes are made, and champions are crowned. The most renowned Mountain Bike Freeride event in the world will host 40 of the world’s elite riders in an event that has progressed what was ever thought possible on a bike, year after year. An amphitheater of athleticism, bravery, skill and focus, the RedBull Rampage is the last battleground of the year in the FMB Diamond Series and a highly coveted title that only one other has ever claimed twice.

Many of the most prominent moments in Freeride Mountain Biking were forged in history at the RedBull Rampage. Kyle Strait’s winning run in 2013, smooth and faultless with fearless style throughout the entire descent was well deserving of the win. Cam Zink’s monster backflip from the Oakley sender, undoubtedly one of the most mind blowing tricks ever landed on a mountain bike. So ground breaking that it was heard around the world on global news networks, setting an all new precedence and progressing the the sport further and faster than ever.

This coming weekend, SRAM and RockShox’s star-studded line up of freeride athletes will be ready to take on the RedBull Rampage in the vast desert of Utah. Riders like Brandon Semenuk, Kyle Strait, Cam Zink, Graham Agassiz, Ryan Howard, Anthony Messere, Kyle Norbraten and Andreau Lacondeguy will take components such as SRAM’s X01 DH Drivetrain, SRAM Guide RSC Brakes, Avid Code Brakes, RockShox BoXXer and RockShox Vivid R2C to all new heights as they navigate, launch, flip and send their way off the cliffs of Virgin, Utah.

The RedBull Rampage is unlike any other event on the FMB calendar. The event is the true testament for those who want to reign supreme as the best big-mountain Freerider. Pulling the most daring and difficult tricks or going for the biggest air won’t win it alone. Riders are also judged on line choice, flow, style and execution throughout the run. With the continual acceleration in trick difficulty and amplitude, it’s almost impossible to guess what the likes of Strait, Semenuk, Zink or Agassiz will deliver this year.

Athletes are faced with yet another challenge this year, as only the second time since the inaugural event in 2001, RedBull Rampage is being held in an entirely new zone of Virgin, Utah. Fresh ground, new options, clear perspective and new lines will provide massive potential for pushing the ever-increasing boundaries even further.

Be sure to catch all the action LIVE this coming Sunday, September 28th from Virgin, Utah over on RedBull.TV here.
