James Cunnama finished fourth on Saturday in the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii. The 30 year old South African finished in a time of 8 hours, 21 minutes and 46 seconds, just 9 minutes and 17 seconds behind winner and 2013 Ironman World Champion from Belgium, Frederik van Lierde.

Brad Brown from Tri Talk SA caught up with Cunnama a day after the race while he was still on the big island to chat about the race, his strategy as well as where he thinks he could improve going forward. James also spoke about what his plans are for the future and perhaps racing Ironman South Africa in 2014, for the 10th edition of the race.

Also this week on Tri Talk SA, Brad caught up with Marc Price from ISM South Africa to chat about why ISM saddles were the most popular in Kona this past weekend, and finally some fantastic news on the show too. Kyle McConnach tells Brad about the new Xdirt National Sprint Triathlon Series that is due to kick off on 1 December 2013. All that, and more on this week’s Tri Talk SA.
