Wines2Whales MTB gets an increased prize purse

The FNB Wines2Whales Mountain Bike Race is proud to announce a radical increase in prize money for the 2013 event. The 2013 prize money will total R305 000, which will make the purse one of the biggest in the country for a three day stage mountain bike race.

“We are very excited to be able to make this substantial prize purse increase,” says Michael Meyer, Director FNB Wines2Whales (W2W). “Earlier this year we had the privilege of welcoming FNB as the official title sponsor of the FNB W2W MTB events. This partnership has enabled us to implement a number of exciting changes including increasing our prize purse for the FNB W2W MTB Race by R100 000 with the total prize purse now standing on R305 000. This is a huge feat for an event that is now only in its 5th year”.

Although the prize money only applies to the FNB W2W MTB Race, riders taking part in the FNB W2W MTB Adventure and Ride can look forward to winning awesome lucky draw prizes compliments of our sponsors.

Starting in the Winelands of Somerset West, riders will cross through (and over) 13 wineries, 26 private farms, six mountains, historic roads and mountain passes, nature conservation areas (including the Kogelberg Biosphere) before finishing within sight of the famous whales of Hermanus.
