City, Countryside, the Future: increasingly, bicycles will become the most important means of transport in urban areas, promising independence and improving quality of life. Visibility on a bike is essential – to safeguard both the rider and other road users. Reflective details on clothing and perfectly working bicycle lights are often used. For even more safety, uvex presents the new uvex city light.

uvex city light is a simple, sporty city bike helmet. Its true character reveals when the power button is pressed: under the outer shell, 4 LED strips light up – 2 at the front, 2 at the back – with 32 LEDs in all. To make the cyclist more visible at dawn or dusk, or in the dark. At the touch of a button, the LEDs switch between constant, flash and pulse.

Depending on the mode, the built-in battery lasts 6 to 12 hours. Recharge in less than 2 hours using the supplied USB cable. An LED indicates charge status:

• Green: 60 % power remaining
• Green/Red: 30 to 60 % power remaining
• Red: ≤ 30 % power remaining, low battery

This technology lies behind an extra LED light at the back of the helmet. Reflective straps and lettering complete the package. Note: road traffic regulations class these helmet LEDs as auxiliary, passive light and do not replace active bicycle lights.

uvex jakkyl hde

This helmet has two faces: The new Mountain bike helmet uvex jakkyl hde can be transformed from a half shell helmet into a full face helmet in no time at all. A detachable chin protector made of laminated fibreglass makes this cool feature possible. Convenient features and a weight of only 630 grams will excite Enduro-bikers.

Enduro: above all, this stands for versatility and the ability to adapt to any trail and terrain – uphill and down. With the new uvex jakkyl hde, uvex presents a correspondingly versatile helmet with detachable chin protector and further convenient details for ambitious Enduro pilots. The goal of the uvex developers was the perfect balance of fit, ideal ventilation, competitive weight – and, true to the uvex motto protecting people – maximum safety.

Colorvision – Race ready

uvex sportstyle 803 colorvision has its roots in the race scene. Because its lenses have been extended at the top, this ultralight sports eyewear protects even in the low riding position on a road bike. Large lenses and a frameless design provide draft-free protection and unrestricted views. Built-in lens ventilation helps prevent lens fogging, even on steep climbs or short stops. Reliably protects from UVA, UVB and UVC.

Highlight: in 2018 uvex sportstyle 803 is part of the uvex Colorvision Collection. uvex colorvision lenses provide new levels of color brilliance and contrast; two factors crucial for performance, reaction time and safety, and especially important in sports. uvex colorvision lenses focus incident light on the lens, so perception is optimized.

uvex has created three lenses, for diverse uses: mountain biking / sports – urban – everyday. Tailored to the features of each environment, they deliver a brilliant viewing experience and detail-rich perception.

uvex sportstyle 803 colorvision comes in two lens options:

• outdoor – mountain biking. Higher brown-green contrast improves depth awareness in terrain, e.g. increases contrast between the trail and green landscape by up to 45 %.
• urban – city traffic. Gray filter heightens red-gray contrast, to help detect light signals even faster. Like traffic signals or brake lights. Road signs stand out more against the asphalt environment, by up to 23 %.

Variomatic

uvex sportstyle 812 v base curve 10 lenses create a completely new level of peripheral vision on a bike. The highly curved lens, with a full 1-centimeter curve, significantly increases the visible field, and improves protection – without any distortion. Thanks to variomatic® technology, the lenses automatically adjust to different light conditions, from protection level S1 to S3. As well as a wide field of view, the optical curve increases protection and freedom from drafts. Soft nose pads and earpiece ends improve comfort and ensure a great fit for this lightweight half frame eyewear. uvex supravision® technology prevents fogging.
