TRP was founded on the idea of building the highest quality braking systems available in the bicycle industry. TRP Brakes are designed for superior levels of performance and durability achieved through the use of advanced production techniques, accurate processing and meticulous quality control.

By using exotic materials such as Carbon Fiber, Titanium and TT6 Aluminum, TRP brakes set a new industry standard for lightweight and precise control. TRP brakes are extensively tested for reliability and safety on and off-road, and in the laboratory – by a company with more than 20 years’ experience designing and manufacturing bicycle brake systems.

This brake features a lever made from cast aluminium and a forged/CNC’d caliper. Both of which have been given a sleek painted silver finish. It also features a new dimpled and drilled lever blade designed by specifically by Gwin. In the brake riders will also find hybrid pistons (ceramic/steel) for improved heat dissipation, tool-free indexed reach adjust and cooling fins on the caliper.

Working closely with the TRP development team, improvements were made in nearly every part of the brake and tested on the world cup circuit throughout the season. We then carried some of these changes over to our Slate trail brake.

The Slate T4 is made from cast aluminium with a clean black finish. It also features the new drilled and dimpled lever blade, designed by Aaron Gwin. Riders will also find benefits in the four-piston caliper, tool-free reach adjust, and top loading caliper.
