  1. onedayonly has a set of front and rear lights on sale today https://www.onedayonly.co.za/rechargeable-led-front-rear-bike-light-20200804.html Doesnt state brand or Lumens, but for the price to keep as a backup its probably not bad. I've ordered a set.
  2. ouzohotlover69 cant be that interesting of a username could it ?
  3. Looks like they fixed the "export to GPX" issue.
  4. Digging up an old thread. Got 2 random Kudos this morning for my commute, one from Brazil the other from New South Wales. Dont know if I should be worried, profile pics on both of these are old grey haired tannies.
  5. I managed to do it from the PC, then emailed it to my phone and imported.
  6. when I try and download from Strava (using my phone) I only get a 32kb file, doesnt seem to download the entire file.
  7. its a road bike if that makes any difference
  8. sweet, Route planned on Komoot. now just to arrange.
  9. interesting, can you get through on the bike ? how far from R25 towards PTA is the sinkhole ? I've been planning to do a coffee run to one of my brother in laws restaurants and that was the planned route, if the road is quiet now and passable with a bike its a good time then to do it.
  10. what this thread is telling me is that MTB guys are to soft to be roadies.

    Shaving

I did something similar when I first started shaving my legs, but at the back of the knee up the tendon that runs towards the hamstring. 20 years later the emotional scars are still there, hence that being the hairiest part of my leg. I first had my legs shaved by a lady "friend" about 20 years ago (what we men do for a little leg over action). But I enjoyed the feeling of having no hair. As a hairy bastard it made a big difference to feel. A little while later I met my now wife, she enjoyed the look of my legs hairless, so I kept shaving. If it was up to me and hair removal wasnt such a big continuous schlep I'd have no hair from the neck down. I just enjoy the feeling of not having hair on the body.
  12. Sounds like a bike fit problem After my bikefit with Richard the sore hands and triceps went away.
  13. what the others have said. in this order but add drop the pressures in the tyre slightly, you're running 28s carbon bars do actually make a small difference, and double wrapped carbon bars are even better HTFU
  14. Looks like there may still be some issues that they are resolving. I usually go the the connect.garmin website on my phone and export the gpx file of my ride to import it into cyclemeter, its meen throwing up an error the last few days when I try. Even tried from the pc and same thing. (I still dont know why there isnt an option to export the gpx file from the app)
  15. Definitely got a 3:45 in me. Did a 3:56 today, and that’s after stopping at the traffic light as the segment starts so that I could chat to some guy who doesn’t know about social distancing, and then giving up 3/4 of the way up so I backed off. Oh, and I stared the segment on Strava, and because I’m friends with LWB on Strava my Garmin was displaying his time as the time to beat.
  16. yeah I'm too weak for that gearing
  17. I've done that once before, need to do it again soon. I often come out this way and then head over to Linksfield Drive, Silvia's etc. as I've got a mate that stays at the top of the ridge.
  18. I used to keep going up past KSB, but for the commute I prefer turning left and heading past Efficient Engineering, its just a quieter road
  19. The thing is, I want to beat my PB doing what I normally do, as a test of getting stronger/fitter. But, just dropping the backpack with work clothing etc. will make a big difference.
  20. Told you you'd blitz my time.
  21. bedfordview side is up until you get to the Sasol garage, then it dips down to the lights. Problem for me is from work, right up to the Sasol is a gradual climb, so if I push it on cold legs to there I'm stuffed for the climb. (did that the other day, there was a truck with rubble on van buuren, I'd fly past it over the speed bumps and certain flatter sections with the workers on the back cheering me on, then on the quicker sections it would come past me).
  22. Cant be easy riding that without pedals.
  23. Leader did it in 2:04, 3:58 puts my in 1142 position. Eish. I think I've got a 3:45 in me with current fitness, if I could get my knee to behave. What I realised last night though was that you need to time the lights at the bottom so that you're hitting the bottom of the hill with some momentum, because that first little kick sucks.
  24. kind of like letting the smoke out of an electrical device, once the smoke is out trying to get it back in is almost impossible.
  25. Strava has the segment as North Reef Highway View. I'm nowhere near the fastest, this is a personal goal. (Although I saw last night of all the people that rode it yesterday I was the fastest). I'm sure you will blitz my time.
