  1. Really had plans to stop this morning on the way to work to take a pic of the sunrise, but my fingers were so frozen I didnt want to take the gloves off.
  2. maybe she is so fat and unfit that it takes her 9 hours to walk around the block, or maybe the block is so big, or maybe its a combination of the 2. Doesnt matter, its Karen, she'll use the time to report the activities of others.
  3. excuse the fact that its sideways, I could never get it the right way (also did not spend to much time tryng to) But this is me in the XC60. Those wheels are 20". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FP7ulWB8Iv0
  4. as long as you're not to close to the tower and then fall into the umbrella of the signal
  5. a bad day on the bike beats a good day in the office.
  6. that looks like its slightly wider than the Scion Elan, it might be a very good alternative. I cant get anything else into the Elan if I put a tube in there.
  7. if you're doing that you may as well get a saddle bag. Its so much neater.
  8. I’m 1.75m and my head just brushes against it. The plan was/is to give it the ability to hinge up out the way when not in use, but my welding skills and the lockdown level we had at time failed me.
  9. Tyres, I’ve done just shy of 2000km on Pirelli Cinturato in 28mm trim and have absolutely nothing bad to say about them. Saddlebag I have a Scion Elan and love the size of it
  10. hahaha. Thankfully not. But, the Q5 actually slept in the street that night and we went to sleep at my folks place because they cut the water to the street.
  11. I stay in a cul-de-sac. The storm water drain sits near the entrance. We had a burst water pipe that flooded the road overnight. When I left in the morning to drop the kids at school I was apprehensive but went through cautiously and steadily, the water went over halfway up the 20" rims on the car. A quick google told me the wading depth of the wifes Q5 was pretty much the same as the XC60 I was in, so I called her and let her know it would be ok. I dont think she went through at a steady pace. I think I may still have some footage on my phone.
  12. ok, I just used it on a normal geyser, so no pump controller.
  13. I was there with the Ms World contestants. 4 contestants were selected to play, so we took them up plus a bunch of support crew. Most of us tee'd off just for the experience, if I recall only miss Columbia played right through. She was also one of a very small amount of people that ever parred the hole. But then she grew up with some famous golfers kids apparently. You cant really see the green that well from the Tee, so you kinda go to the edge, check it out and then tee off and pray that you can follow the balls trajectory. Was my first time in a heli, but being the official photographer I got to ask the pilot to circle round the green a few times so that I could get some nice shots.
  14. my wifes Q5 flooded in 500mm high water a year ago (although we go lucky and the water did not get into the engine, only starved it of air).
  15. I can imagine. Back in 2009 I went up to the 19th hole at Legends. Its a heli trip up, Tee off, then heli trip down. I seem to recall a figure of around R6500 for a 4 ball to play just that one hole.
  16. when I still did fashion/runway photography, every single one of my pics would be 1deg skew, not matter how hard I tried. Eventually just created an action in post that would rotate the entire batch by 1deg.
  17. what issues are you having with the Geyser Wise ? I had one for many years, then the insides burnt out one day. I'm still surprised that they are the only ones making a complete package that does timing and heat settings. I've been trying to find a solution that will do the same but via an cellphone app.
  18. Started a show us your 'shop thread in April, looks like no-one was interested. Here's a cut and paste from that thread. My untidy workshop There are a number of folks on here that are rather handy with tools. Not all of the hub are tools. So show us your “shop”. I’ll start. My garage although double is very short, so no room for a workbench inside. About 2 years after moving in I built this 6x3m workshop behind the garage. It shares on wall with the garage and the height was restricted by the height of the eves of the garage. A lot of the stuff has been donated, the garage door came from my parents house, the shelves, which are begging to be changed, we old cupboards from my dads company. The workbench was from the house across the road from my parents. They bought the house from the old man that lived there, because he and I used to help each other out with DIY stuff he gave me the bench when he moved out. He was rather handy carpenter and built the bench himself. I recently installed the bike stand. I’ve had it for about a year but only now got around to mounting it. It’s modest, but it does the job.
  19. Thanks I’m far more interested in the sleep tracking side of things, but rest and recovery would also be cool. BTW I read an article today that suggested the ring can pick up a fever a few days before it’s going to happen.
  20. and all of these only take into account a rigid road bike Throw a full sus MTB on an offroad course into the equation and the lighter wheels make a bigger difference to the unsprung mass and handling of the bike.
  21. That is absolutely bonkers And to think he only stopped for around 10 minutes in that entire 24hour period (looking at the moving time on Strava)
  22. I'm also interested (although the price still seem prohibitive to me) But I'd rather wear this than a whoop bracelet)
  23. and not one mention of having the right gearing
  24. one would think in the current times companies would jump at any opportunity for possible business. I was taking a chance with a warranty repair/replacement, but they missed an opportunity to possible suggest a replacement article. Right now with everyone turning over their coins 6 times before spending, brand retention should be a priority.
  25. so 2 days later and no response from them, I'll take that as a "fat chance sucker" response. Still poor from them, at the very least they could have taken the time to reply with a "sorry, not sorry" response.
