  1. Thanks, this might be the issue after all.
  2. https://www.strava.com/activities/3701064361 Dont laugh to hard, I'm still suffering with the knee. I see Strava says its a calculated elevation, so probably not getting it from Garmin
  3. But if GPS is off then I should not be getting speed and distance either as I'm not running a Speed sensor on the bike Edit. Never mind, just checked on the unit, GPS was turned off. Not sure how it gets speed and map then, but at least I found the problem.
  4. I'm using an edge 130 on the bike. It synchs straight to the phone after I save the ride on the device. Garmin Connect then synchs to Strava. Strava shows my elevation gain, but Garmin Connect is not showing anything. If I got back through my activities it looks like it started when I did my first IDT ride during lockdown, did I change something I've forgotten about ?
  5. Holy smokes. Anyone know why it’s says Ouzo on there?
  6. hahah, me too. But I'm convinced the algorithm sees which tile you chose and sticks the big numbers somewhere else. I usually select somewhere around middle right and the big number get revealed on the left, so today I went left and the big number popped up on the tile I was going to pick on the right before I changed my mind.
  7. agreed, I was busy googling who the hell they were after I got the SMS and then the email came through. Not sure how they work it, but it seems I got R50 reward for spending R350 at the store.
  8. when I rock up here on the bike security takes my temps on my neck
  9. The plan was to ride as much as possible, and with everyone else mostly still in lockdown I was ever so slowly creeping up the ranks from dead last. But knee pain has put me off the bike since wednesday last week. I hoping to get back on around thursday or so.
  10. The button is there to release the mechanism, the centrifugal force is what makes the cord come out the mechanism. That’s why when you wind the cord to right the centrifugal force is not enough to pull it out.
  11. no where, not even to work. Have been experiencing some knee pain off the bike over the last few weeks, was mainly going up stairs that I felt it, but this week it is alot more often and its going up and down stairs, and then during yesterdays commute it was hurting on the bike, something its not done before. Since my commute takes me over a 5%avg climb that takes me around 4 minutes to climb that opportunity to take it easy is not there, so I've parked the bike for a few days to give the knee some rest.
  12. from failures you learn what doesnt work. If you enjoy it then keep at it, as you learn what does and doesnt work your project will become more ambitious.
  13. only if youve wound the cutting cord to tight and now its jammed. So maybe I should add to the good news thread. From recent posts here it seems my cutting lawn since I was tall enough to push a lawnmower has helped me in adult life.
  14. you never seen a garden executive moering the bottom of the weedeater into the ground ?
  15. im pretty sure the adrenalin must be pumping, having done my air side training and watched the videos that go with it its pretty hectic.
  16. I can say the leg warmers work well. They did not have the Platinum version at the JHB store to send me so I got the maxitherm version, apparently much of a muchness between the 2. My legs are not normally a problem in the cold, but having the leg warmers on just gives that extra level of comfort. It also enables me to wear my short bibs instead of having to invest in long bibs.
  17. those camera angles make it look like the technician on the ground is rather close to the engines at FT
  18. So which KOMs did you get ?I got a KOC today ( King Of the Couch)
  19. they apparently took a lot of flak for it on social media. hahahaha
  20. They do offer a GFV, they call it Versatility Finance
  21. Damn I wish it worked like that in the car industry. The amount of times you spend hours with a customer answering all their questions, showing them all the options, test drives. negotiations etc. for them to go and buy at another dealership where all the salesman did was undercut your quote.
