  1. The word sustainability comes to mind. over pricing may still result in continued sales but it is not sustainable in a declining market. This is were premium brands will always have an edge because “pedigree “
  2. Yeah that’s what I was thinking. Sounds like a lot more going on here that resulting in poor recovery and muscle build. i’d say go see a specialist , pathologist and if anything are sure ours familiar with SAIDS guidelines if you plan to continue in sport.
  3. The shape of the chamois plays a role here. One of the reasons I didn’t get along with the power saddle or any of the other brand names it’s sold under is that the saddle flares too gradually so my thighs would rub the saddle all the time. My assos bibs have the thickest pads, but with thin wings, of all my bibs so it would pinch my nutt. A saddle with a narrower nose and a more aggressive flare out to the width is better suited to me and my assos bibs. my ciovita bibs pads feel thick but they’re softer so under compression they’re a little more accommodating on a wide nose saddle. The result is in ciovita I now have to buy the supremo with it thicker pad but thinner wings or Vye bibs to avoid this nutt cracking effect. These are elements worthy of consideration when purchasing bibs and contact points
  4. “Mint”… too early in the week?
  5. I don’t think these were available in anything other than j bend?
  6. Riley Amos… you have to listen to his interviews. Proper character. Could make a career out of stand up comedy
  7. Victor has had his best start to a season ever. That’s the motivation that Olympic qualification delivers
  8. Just use 3 bolts. There has to be a symmetrical anchoring or the rotor will warp. Bear in mind the rotor will be less stiff now especially when hot so be careful with long descents. hopefully your friend is not more than 90kg
  9. Don’t forget the surface too. Henrique was saying it’s quite a unique terrain but it reminds of the Free State in some regards with all that red soil around. Course walkabout videos showed a lot of green death everywhere. the mens U23 race was a pretty quick one at 1hr 01:51 for 7 laps. I reckon the elite men will be out for 9 laps and the ladies 7 or 8 as well to make the compulsory 1hr15min. Luke Moir had another stellar performance to finish just on 75seconds down. I think we also under estimate just how good these guys and gals are to make these course look not technical enough. consider that Luke would be cleaning up in the local races. And then Alan is still a mother few turns of the screw more highly tuned. i also noted that all the speech riders are on the Epic 8 this weekend due to the technicality of the features. Schwartzbauer ditched the 32 SL for a 35 FA this weekend.
  10. Agreed, Araxa does have highly complex features but it is a fast course. It is not Nove Mesto instance where 60% of the lap is getting over roots. However the features that are present are extreme enough to have warranted intervention by the course commissaire.
  11. Having been participatory to some XCO courses in Wales and NW England as talking to to guys like Bennet and Meurant I've learned a few thigs about course requirements. What you and I consider a technical challenge doesn't work when you have 120 people all trying to William Wallace the feature. Technical climbs have to be either narrow and fast or slow and wide to allow riders to clear it. There has to be a flow that sets a rhythm for the race. Creating bottlenecks is a disaster because you then break the race within 500m. So course designers have taken the idea of spreading the field out with a wide steep climb at the beginning leading into a fast flowing section before the techy stuff starts. Hence start loops often don't have techy features but rather hurding features that thins the field gradually before the race settles on lap 1. Then a series of races also has to have a variety of courses Some are steep (Albstadt, Andorra) some fast (Stellenbosch, Snow Shoe, Mairipora), some a mix (les Gets, Mt St Anne). Then there's the 2Dcamera flattening features on the trail. i'm sure we can ride more technical trails any day of the week but I can assure you that the easiest World Cup course is a more technical than any most trail we ride daily
  12. we laugh about the saddle thingy but that **** is real. Okes are using saddles that shouldn't work for them but because "S" they will shoehorn their bottoms onto it. The result is chaffed lycra. Choose the right saddle okes
  13. No one crashed heavily but many of the riders expressed concern that some of the features required too much speed to clear and if someone got it wrong it would result in the race being stopped to clear bodies. The changes won't stop the front riders from leaping it but the mid field to tail end now have a bale out option if someone gets it wrong. Remember there are 120+ riders in the mens elite field, 80+ in the ladies elite and not all are within 5% of the top 10
