Hi all i need help i have a few small chips in my fox Kashima coating what can i do can i get them recoated or what?

I've Repaired with matt nail varnish. You can get a similar colour but I don't have the bottle anymore.

You have to use a very fine artists brush to spot it on. Came out perfect. Problem is finding the right colour. Start in the middle and work to the edges.

If you’re saying to pop the swollen battery with a pin, then that is incredibly bad advice. My team deals with dozens of device battery changes a day, but we have a protocol that kicks in with swollen batteries that requires special handling, packaging and shipping rather than dealing in house with them as the risks are very high of a thermal event. If I’ve misunderstood your advice, apologies and ignore the above but sticking a pin into a swollen lithium ion battery is not something to ever do.

@BigDLYou don't stick a pin into the battery. The LI-Po Batteries on the RC Helicopters Are Packed in Plastic and they get a Build Up of Gas Inside the Plastic Packaging You just pop the Packaging not the Battery. If You Stick anything into the Battery it Could Go UP in Flames. In the Picture I show one that's been Popped and still works perfectly.

Garmin will replace it. It will just take about  3 weeks if you need it posted back to you.
if you In jhb you it might be quicker turn around

If you can get inside the unit Just pop the plastic with a pin.  I do it to RC Helicopter batteries and they work normal after. Don't Know about Garmin Batteries but it should be the same technology.

Guess I was 'lucky' that I could peel and rub this off. Takes a long time though, and sore fingers. Using a pressure sprayer might have been fun :)

Probably not necessary either, but I wanted a clean start with fresh sealant. I'll probably have to use a bit more to seal the sidewalls again.

I don't want to play "Devils Advocate" Here But Here Goes.

I been using Tubeless for a Long Time

I started on my Merida Kalahari in the Days that you could not even Get Sealant or TR 26er Tyres.

We used to call it Ghetto Tubelass the Ou Manne will Know What I'm Talking about.

I have the Knowledge to Make my Own Sealant as well.

5 years ago I converted my Trusty Merida Big 9 back to Tubes with tube Protectures from Sportsman's Warehouse and Slime Tube Sealant. Initially the bike did feel Heavier I have to admit to that. Eventually I Got rid of the Sealant for Obvious Reasons. Initially I did have a cut in the tube which was resolved by sanding the Rough edges of the tube protectures and Installing Brand New Kenda Tubes. 4 1/2 Years On and 7000 Km with no Punctures.

I recently converted my Trusty Merida 120 back to Tubes and Sportsman's Tube Protectures, Kenda Tubes Brand New from Cycle Lab , no sealant. 6 months on no Punctures. Makes You think.

I have found thorns and nails embedded in the tyre

The Bike once again felt a bit heavier, And IT IS  about 100 Grams per wheel.

I have found Thorns and Nails Embedded in the Tyre but no Punctures so far.

    Glass has no Chance.

    Thanks Dusty, Rabubi.

Have spoke to Dave as Droo suggested and am waiting on a recommendation from him.

Unfortunately I find this saddle the best I have ever used by a large margin and I have tried most including the Freedom Saddle.

This Brooks just does it for me.  My second choice is a Rolls which I have fitted on the interim and was happy with it until I discovered Brooks.  It feels like I am riding on a brick now and should I get a new one, it will still have to be worn in.

If nothing happens I may just try my welding skills and slide a ferrule of sorts over the welded bit.

    Heart breaking pic attached.

My LBS swears by the KMC e-bike chains.

    6 000 km on the Trance-E.

EDIT - With Shimano TRIPPLE check the number of links .... they love selling the slightly shorter chains.  TOO short for our bikes.

Mee Too KMC is the Best Chains

No Need to buy the Expensive one (Standard is Fine) Same Steel Chain more Chrome.

I've Clocked 16K on a KMC X10 and Changed it because it was OLD Not Worn.

I have a '22 model that hasn't had much off-road action and has been serviced by Durbanville cycles since I purchased the bike. It's always had some chain slack when in the small rear gear (it's a 1 x 12 L-Twoo set up) and if you're pedalling at high RPMs and stop pedalling, the chain lunges forward then resets itself (tested when on a bike service frame too) 2nd issue is that when you push down on the pedal after coasting it doesn't engage the rear wheel/power immediately. There's a slight lag before the power is engaged.

Any ideas on what is happening?

I'm in the NL 🇳🇱 now so I can't take back to DVC 🙄

Recheck all Derailleur Adjustments. Sounds like too little tension on Chain.

No I understand Fully I wasn't attacking you you or being mean if it came off that way I was merely saying because you say you ride threw evrything and over everything as in I mean I get that I love my trek x-caliber and my wheels is the the things I service most and hubs because I ride it like I stole it and ones a year I do a complete tear down of the bike at TREK to regrease evrything and what so on,and obviously I do the rockshox services on the hours to retain warranty.

You Just Bought It       Won't need a Service for a Long Time.

Ja ek hoor jou but like you said then I keep taking it back easy it's my money not there's but ja then I will just keep getting a new fork evry 10 hours then buy myself a new one when it's warranty is done.

This is not a solution. Negotiate.

After a While Your Headset etc etc will also be damaged and you will lose sleep.

And will even start hating every ride and stop riding the bike.

Negotiate with the place where you bought the bike. It's their responsibility to make you happy.

The Fork came Installed on the Bike.

Remember one Thing if you buy tenderized it ain't gonna taste like fillet.

No I haven't as I always support TREK Lynnwood service my bike there whatever the bycicle mechanic Johan was and has always just been nice and the thing is I like my X-Caliber for me it's a decent and lekker bycicle like I mentioned previously I do have another trek and it's seen over 10k since new and it has zero wear or the fork and that's a even a lower end than the judy its a santour xct30 but hey it's been very good to me.

On a Bare Steel Upper Tubes  like the XCT 30 you won't see the marks.

The Judy is Steel Upper Tubes Painted Black and you will see the marks.

/Quote/ Fast Black finished 30mm steel upper tubes couple stiffness and lightweight with a premium look/Unquote/

    Judy Silver TK | FS-JDYS-TK-A3 | RockShox (sram.com)

On an Alloy Upper Tube Coated (any colour) you won't see the marks.

If this thing is driving you up the wall try to get your money back and walk away.

This ain't the point it's not supposed to happen imagine seeing it a year later fucktup like I never really cared about my stuff and the fact that I am willing to pay in an X amount for a better fork and they say no that can't happen on a warranty claim to note also its the 2nd fork brand new heck even the X-Caliber is brand new bought it like December 2days after I got *** with it.

It's Difficult to Comprehend  how 2 Forks have exactly the same problem. If it's not lubrication then the sliders or the seals must be damaged. I'm sure that they will sort it out for you. That coating on the RS Silver is not like Kashima or anything like that it's a basic coating that does lose its color over time.

Do you have a picture of the New Fork that they put in. It's not a TREK problem but a RockShox (SRAM) problem. Maybe a bad Batch.

Have you tried to "Get Your Money Back" ?

  12. Maybe the Fork is suffering from Oil Starvation on the Stanchions.

I would assume that they put oil in this fork.

Park the Bike Upside down for 30 minutes before riding.

    Some Fine Scratches are Fine.

    Mine's got them too.
