  1. Hey, we brought in some Juicelubes grease which has almost as good water protection as marine grease, which might be a bit too heavy for bike bearings, where the Juicelubes is Will alloy the bearings to spin with much lower resistance. It’s R184/pot, so definitely worth it in my book👌, might be a chance that you’ll be able to save your bearings.
  2. Looks to be for maintenance, but seems like a lot, so not sure if they overestimated or have plans for new trails
  3. Exactly this, good trail marking, and just colours with distances and ascent at the trailhead
  4. I do Mtb rides 2-3 times a week, about 15kg overweight and on a decently cheap roadbike and popped out a 3:30 earlier this year, honestly, just ride, a lot.
  5. Theres nothing wrong with a 26er, unless you want to go fast, theres no reason to get a 29er Would definitely go for a 26er
  6. I have a old xtr hub, but its unfortunately rim brakes only
  7. https://ridejoburg.co.za/2021/11/21/elite-women-race-results/ Organizers have commented would agree that it’s unfair, but they still have to abide by CSA rules
  8. Was wondering wether I was going mad or it the uppers were backwards????
  9. I would agree with this, but with someone being eliminated every episode, it keeps people watching, it keeps it exciting and intense. If one winner was announced at the end of the season, many would wat 1, maybe 2 episodes and then the finale. Bit more unfair on the contestants, but unfortunately the producers need views to make money.
  10. Don’t think prices will ever come down to be honest, supply chains are broken. Fuel prices have skyrocketed etc. Demand for bikes is also really high, so people buy them at the current elevated prices, so if costs come down why would companies bring their prices down? Could just make more profit? If you look on the bigger international stores, almost everything is sold out and has been for a while now.
  11. Rapide Found out today there is also a company called Contraband Not sure if custom guys like Mercer would count?
  12. I would say, 3, MAYBE 4, road, stiff xc shoes, clipped trail shoes with more flex and flats, but more than that is a bit over the top IMO, even if you can afford it
  13. Ah ok, cool, do you know if the price they give for shipping includes duties etc? Or approx how much that will be?
  14. Was looking at it, but feel its a bit pricy for what you get to be honest
  15. It would depend on the frame and/or components to be honest, im putting some forward and rest is bday/christmas prezzie. Checked with trailtech, said they had nothing and not dealing internationally anymore. Wouldn't want to go over the 8-9k range on the frame if possible, but also don't want to have to upgrade again in 6 months lol.
  16. Hi all, know im resurrecting a pretty old thread. Im looking for a 140mm or so hardtail, if anyone knows where I can find a frame or full bike (in this case ill just sell all the parts). M or L, would prefer M as I like a bit smaller bike. Currently on a Momsen STR, but its starting to get a bit sketchy with my 140mm fork, geo isn't designed for it and I was starting to bottom my 120 out, even with 3 volume spacers. Would prefer 2nd hand, don't mind paint scratches at all, don't mind new though. I have looked at all the previous suppliers etc. previously mentioned on this thread and they all seem to be sold out or not importing anymore. Checked on the meta ht and after hardtailparty's review, wasn't too sold. Thanks in advance.
  17. You should be able to do this yourself actually. Should be able to use your current crankset depending on the mounting type and only put a 1x chainring on it. Only issue is your freehub body, as 100Tours said, the 8s might not accept the 10s Not sure if you have access to a cassette tool, if you do, it would be easy to check. All you would need, tool wise, for the conversion would be Allen keys and a cassette tool.
  18. It would all be budget depending Dont skip on a really good allen key set, they go a really long way The rest would really depend on what you would want to do, but stuff like cassette tool, bb tool, chain breakers etc I would buy separately
