Have you heard anything about whether insurance will payout? I know its no consolation whatsoever.
My Afrikaans girlfriend calls me this all the time, I even have a T-Shirt, lol. While at school I worked as an usher at a cinema.
There was this older Afrikaans boy who was school drop out that would always want to bully the younger guys, so we ended up "wrestling" in the staff room often.
Anyway he liked calling the English guys "sout pielle (SP)" .... he then proceeded to tell us that it was because we have on leg in England and one leg in South Africa with our, you guessed it, "piel" in the sea.
My response to him was "well no wonder you are so jealous knowing just how long our P3n1s is then" ... then led to a new round of "wrestling"
I have digressed, Afrikaans is a lovely language if not taken to it's lowest slang form, but kept clean and fluid..... just so many ways to describe somethings.
Sorry to hear, hopefully they don't know that you have other nice bikes, otherwise they could be back, so maybe be extra vigilant.
That's awesome, what of the bastard that was trying to sell it?no stress.
got hold of Richard and they recovered the stolen Scott scale last night!
1 up for us cyclists!
Yip, I was diagnosed with tennis elbow in both arms . Still almost 7 weeks on and the pain is still there. My grip strength is something I need to look at as well come to think of it as my hands & fingers get sore during riding( I've also had complete bike set-ups done). So stretching and rehab is slowly helping, but extremely frustrating as I have only done one road ride in that time.lateral epicondylitis ....Banged up my forearm and elbow on a mtnbike fall on Jan 1st 2014...suffered dull deep pain in forearm and sharp pain in the elbow...the dull pain in the forearm is brought on with workload and strangely get worse at night. Dr's diagnoses ,The dreaded Tennis Elbow, which we could soon rename" Mountain bikers elbow" I got an injection into the elbow which worked great for 3 weeks, When I started battling with grip strength I visited my GP again and this time had ex-ray's...nothing broken but probably some nerve damage .So more Anti-Inflammatories and a possible visit to the specialist if it doesn't improve.
So 5 months down the road...I wear one of those elasticized arm braces when ridding ..it seems to help...My arm will ache after heavy lifting ,and it will wake me up at night if I don't sleep with it in just the right position. My grip strength has improved but it's still not 100%.
so my big question who has tried acupuncture?
I much prefer the UK version, I can relate to it a lot more having lived in the UK for 10 years. I've only watched a few episodes of the US version, and it felt way to "Americanised" to me.How is shameless UK vs shameless US? I love the US version
Currently watching Game of Thrones, Californication(Season 7), when that is done then Shameless UK(Season 9 &10) followed by Vikings.
I've also started to get into Silent Witness.
"Not da Mamma" my mate plays it for his 16 month old baby and he loves it.Got Dinosaurs a while back. Blast from my childhood...
Working to Naked and Afraid, and watching Auction Hunters as well some times and watched Dads last week. Dads were a hoot to watch
Did the Chapmans Peak drive today taking some friends who are out from Belgium and I will say that people drive like absolute twats along that road, with all of the incidents I encountered being Capetonian registered cars.
I was being overtaken on solid white lines on blind corners, was being tailgated cause I was driving at the speed limit, which is 40km/h, hooted at 'cause I was waiting behind some cyclists till it was safe to pass.
Some folks are just so self righteous, they need a good PK.
What I can never understand about the Chappies route, is why are motorists in such a hurry to drive along this section? Even when in a car, people tailgate and overtake on dodgy corners.
Some of the most brilliant single track in the country, enjoy I so miss riding thereYou Natalians are spoilt rotten..
Spent the morning riding Giba Gorge.. tomorrow we do it again.
And I didnt fall.. see I am fine with single track and descents.. just don't give me district roads or railway lines.
A once off deal, ain't gonna happen again.Where the hell did you find them at those prices... I need to go there tomorrow.
Gold? Why not Platinum?
Cause Platinum doesn't look as good as goldGold? Why not Platinum?
A 24-CARAT gold bicycle with an alligator skin seat and stingray skin bottle will retail at a whopping £600,000.
The huge price tag may drive people away but creators insist the money will go to charity - and buyers will have a nice bike.
For £600k you can buy a luxury house, a couple of nice sports cars and holidays for a lifetime.
But with this unique golden bike, you get: a customised seat cover made from brown alligator hide, a personalised water bottle made with pure gold which comes with a stingray skin cover and…plenty of fun.
Maybe its not worth £600,000 but if you want a one of a kind mountain bike made of pure gold that is the price you'll have to pay.
Hugh Power, CEO of creators House of Solid Gold, said the tough part about designing the bike was making sure it ridable.
He said: "The price tag on the bike is only so high because most - if not all - of the proceeds will be donated to charity.
"And buying the bike is more a way for the affluent who want to donate their money to a great worldly cause, and receive the bike as a token."
He explained all of the proceeds will go to The Way to Happiness Foundation, which helps combat crime and violence around the world.
Designers and craftsmen spent 750 hours of hard work to make the bike.
And as it stands, it is the only gold bike in existence.
Mr Power said the hard part was making sure it was ridable.
The 57-year-old entrepreneur said: "The idea came about while I was extreme mountain biking on a similar bike.
"It was during this ride that the idea was born to build a gold bike, customised with all the latest hi-tech gear.
"But the true challenge I faced was to make sure that the bike would be ridable - and still able to cover 995 of the bike completely in gold."
Well it worked and now he's looking to build 12 more of the luxury two-wheelers.
That's almost £8million to charity if all of them sell - get buying people!
German translation .In the article he refers to his Santa Cruz as a "Big Boy"...
