  1. Hi everyone, I have a question regarding the R103 from Boksburg side all the way to Heidelberg. I have searched the thread and see everyone takes the R550 through to SBR. I am planning on riding from Edenvale to Vanderbijlpark through Boksburg and Heidelberg and was wondering if the road is safe enough to do so. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  2. Does anyone have a GPS Map of the red route? I keep missing one or two sections of the red route...
  3. Had an awesome ride there this weekend as well. Does anyone have a gps map of the red route?
  4. I went to the park yesterday for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised. I followed all the yellow markers (I missed the first one unfortunately) and had an awesome ride. Had 2 moments where I came around a corner and guys were barreling down on me, but was never a problem. Well done Ricky and team, looking forward to some new Trails being cut with some more challenging sections!!
  5. Whoop!!! Roll on the Lionman at Mabelingwe!!
  6. Chill dude... was just giving my friend a bit of grief... , and in turn got a bit of grief from another mate... Personally I have no issues with running any groupset on any bike - its all much of a muchness and down to taste and/or what you can afford... Now... did you just admit to having non Campy on an italian frame???
  7. I cant believe you publicly admitted to having Shimano on a Pinarello.... no wonder I could keep up with my little mountainbike!
  8. It was a very nice race indeed.. I also did the 30KM mtb race.. Thoroughly enjoyed it! Does anybody know if we can find photos of the event online? or who the photographers were? Thanks!
  9. I am going for my 4th one in 4 years... hoping to do 10 in a row at least. Got a huge confidence boost after doing the Bakwena, so really looking forward to this one!
  10. I saw it as well! It would have been so much easier if I could have done the 30km race and still got the medal!
  11. Right... I went to go look at the BB yesterday after work. Very suspect is the fact that the axle is bent and you can feel the one bearing pivot on it. Worst riding that I have done is up and down the Braamfontein spruit. I can't do those big jumps either, as I am still too much of a noob... It is a Truvativ Powespline BB. so was the one before, and I dont think it was what the bike came out with originally. My cranks are truvativ though I also spoke to the shop yesterday about drilling holes in the frame for water to run out, and they mechanic told me not to do it as it will void the warranty on the frame... I am contemplating doing an upgrade to an external BB, but will only do so once the new one has packed up... Poenster2008-11-18 22:39:32
  12. Right... So a month ago I had my Bottom bracket replaced. Since then I have done about 400km's on my bike of which 150 was offroad. The rest was all road riding. The offroad stuff: I sprayed the bike down after every ride, being careful not to spray directly onto the hubs and the BB and made sure the bike was clean afterwards. afterwards I would turn the bike upside down to make sure no water collected in the BB area. Even had the bike in front of a heater the one time (also upside down) I also did 2 rides in mist rain. Before the 94, I noticed a clicking sound coming from pushing down on the right pedal. checked the pedals, and they were flexing a bit. Concerned that the BB went again, and being unable to book the bike in before the 94, I rode the race with a constant clicking and every now and then a different noise. I then took the bike in yesterday to the shop, and got the call that mud and water is all over the BB... I thought a mountain bike should be able to handle these kinds of things? After the last replacement, I was even paranoid about keeping the bike clean and doing everything the shop told me to do... Is it possible that I got a dud? Or is it justified that I pay for a new BB after riding with this one for a month?
  13. Now that sounds great!! Thank you Nancy!!!
