  1. Doing the double this weekend is going to be interesting. My small Spark only has only one waterbottle cage and can only take 500ml bottle. Guess i need to dust off the old camelback. This is going to feel weird
  2. Dont say that now no one is going to want to do all the pulling.
  3. Ana Benčič story reads like the making of a Hollywood blockbuster
  4. Sounds like the sports marketing company also failed Ryder.....
  5. I remember watching a vid on this. Found it and just screen grabbed. Hope it helps
  6. I too have unfinished business with a one day Marathon race in Grabouw (Tiletoria Elgin MTB). Had a major mechanical that took me out while climbing Groenlandberg. Promised myself i would return the next year. But alas that was the last edition of the race. Hoping it would pop up again or any similar race with similar route in that region just for retribution.... Was thinking of just going out there and riding the route myself if the race never happens again but then i believe Paul Cluver is closed to the public...... Guess it will always remain unfinished.............
  7. Trailseekers Banhoek Sat 29th Jan. Imbuko big 5 in 19 Feb
  8. Sounds all well but then but shouldnt bikes be low maintenance simplistic modes of transport.
  9. is Shimano linkglide groupsets not yet available in SA? Thats suppose to be bullet proof for ebikes
  10. Cannondale Scapel with a normal telescopic fork is blasphemy. I hope you rot in **** for doing that
  11. With all this hassle of a IDT listed above, i have to ask why not just get a indoor bike that can read power and speed and can connect to whatever training device you use. Something like a Cycle ops phantom or Concept 2 bike erg. Price wise its similar (if not cheaper) than getting a direct drive IDT and the hassle of having a dedicated training bike (in your case x2 for you and your husband). this way both of you can use it and just adjust seat, reach, stack etc to make it fit either of you.
  12. check out their Social media (IG and FB). Their old website wasnt updated Check this website https://trailseeker.co.za/mtb/events/1-banhoek/ Edit: Outdated website https://mtb.trailseekerseries.co.za/ website with updated calendar https://trailseeker.co.za/
  13. ive been listening to all these diet trends (i mean advice) and ive concluded that you should only be on a diet of fresh air
  14. I dont know why but i am up for it again this year. Last year when i finished (nearly dead last) i said never again do I want to see or do anything in Wellington. Hoping for a PR this time
  15. that R380 for the TMNP activity permit is assuming you have 4 friends to join with you. A single is R660. The MTO Jonkers price, is that the single or family price? and does that only cover Jonkers? what about MTO Garden route ? Otherwise excellent table

    Quebeka

the whole demise of team qhubeka hurts fans of the sport world wide (not juts in SA). The team was well loved by majority of cycling fans and the team stood for something other than stats and numbers. It was idealistic. Last few years the team has been battling with results and financial woes. Doug has pulled more rabbits out of the hat than Houdini could dream of. He must be commended on keeping the team alive all these years, he sacrificed a lot (heard stories of how he had to take funds from his bond just to pay salaries). However there is a side to this that is untold. As in why riders tend to perform better after they left the team or why top tier riders when joining the team never reach those high notes as they did in the past. Was it tactics? management style etc ? We might not ever know. South Africa, no Africa can produce top tier riders and who knows what will rise from these ashes.... let us continue to dream.........
  17. lots of nice options mentioned. Consider the Garmin Instinct
  18. She is capable of self coaching Cant say that about majority of people.....
  19. As sad as I am to see this happen, TQNH didnt have much African talent in their squad. It was basically RJvR and NicD. But does improving and developing cycling across the continent need a African WT team? The South Americans seem to do just fine without a WT team. Whats really holding back the continent of producing top tier riders.
  20. 1) anyone know if riding MTB in Jorts are acceptable in this country ? 2) is if yes to 1) , then do they have to be MTB specific.? 3) if No to 2) can a cut an old pair of jeans up?
  21. Just my take two different bikes like you have here so which fork you have on it shouldnt be the only factor. Frame Geo and suspension design are different between these bikes which will have a bigger impact on how the bike rides (and how you interface with the bike) than whether it has a 32mm 100m fork VS a 34mm 120mm fork. Slap that 34mm 120mm travel fork on the Giant and its still a different bike to the Spark. Edit: You should have started out the post saying you have your eye on the Spark 940 (insert year model) but this Giant Anthem 2 (insert year model) is also flirting with you
  22. Would like to see the two stroke alloy frame for sale. Would like to build up a winter beater for next year that can double up as my sons bike
