He is targeting 6 stage wins. Today then friday and Saturday as well. He is too competitive to sit and defend his lead.

Lets wait and see ..... 😊

Poggi wants it, I have a feeling is going to try and win all the remaining stages.

I seriously doubt that.  He will be focused on winning overall rather than wasting energy on stages and taking risks in the process.

Surely the Breakaway will be given this stage, as long as it doesn't contain any GC top10 threats...

    Probably ...

Altitude to low for Jonas to "try" an attack and Pogacar will probably only defend.  The sprinters wont be interested, so yeah, probably a break away stage.

    From team twitter:

Primož Roglič underwent careful examination by our medical team after yesterday’s stage and again this morning. The decision has been taken that he will not start today, to focus on upcoming goals.

We wish you a speedy recovery Primož 🙏🏻

The sad part is, THIS TIME, its not due to his own fault/mistake but due to one dumb-ass Astana rider.

Primoz's best support will be to add 2x training wheels to his bike....  Perhaps not aero, but will save him minutes....

Yip, he can really stop falling now .... 🙈

Luke & G (Watts Occurring) were talking about Cavendish's longevity. He has competed against people that have come and gone, as well as the current generation:

Okay, not all are out-and-out sprinters, but he's beaten them all, and I'msure some have beaten him too, so they're good enough to be labelled as a "sprinter":

    • McEwan
    • Hunter
    • Zabel
    • Farrar
    • Ciolek
    • Hushovd
    • Petacchi
    • Greipel
    • Rojas
    • Kittel
    • Sagan
    • Boasson Hagan
    • Colbrelli
    • The boxer... what's his name... Bouhanni
    •

    And those still competing:

    • Kristoff
    • Ewen
    • Degenkolb
    • Demare (is he still active?)
    • Bennett
    • Jasper
    • Coquard
    • Bling
    • Groenewagen
    • Jakobson
    •

I may have left a few names off the list.

    Wout ... 😊

My expectation is that Remco takes 20s on Jonas in the TT, and the Pogi is 10 to 15s behind Jonas.
That'll hopefully mean sub 30s from 1st to 3rd after the TT.

I'd love to see Roglic get back into the mix, but I think Almeida and C-Rod are his main rivals for a top 5 based on his recent performances.

I would also like to see Roglic getting in the mix.  Will always be a fan.

Actually quite smart of UAE. Keep more contenders in the fight so they mark each other. UAE knows they can cover with the jersey in their side so it’s up to Bora, TVLaB and Soudal QS to get it off them.
If the 3 play smart they will use the enemy of my enemy is my friend strategy

Thats exactly what went through my thick skull last night.  Jonas, Primoz & Remco's best chance is probably to pull a tag team effort on Pogi like Jonas & Primoz did 2 years ago.

But thats extremely unlikely that they would work together like that.

I think you'll eat these words before the end of the tour....

Jonas was 10 or 12s behind at the summit, and then lost time to the heavier rider on a technical descent that required sprinting out of hairpins over and over, which favours Pogi. Yesterday's stage was so reminiscent of last year's stage 6 where Pogi took 24s on a punchy climb to a summit finish, and we all know how that turned out in the end.

The tour is 100% in the balance in my opinion, and the margins are tiny. Jonas closed the gap to 6s at some point on the descent yesterday. If he was literally 3 or 4s closer, I reckon he gets into Pogi's draft and sits on his wheel all the way to the line. But Pogi took massive risks to stay away. One or 2 mistakes on a hairpin and Jonas would have caught him - instead Jonas loses 37s (without bonuses).

But the race of truth on Friday will reveal all...

I agree, would be awesome if Jonas can only get better from here, but I think we hoping for a miracle, but then again miracles do happen ... ☺️.

Also it would be great if Primoz & Remco can gain some time somehow (asking for another miracle) that we can have a proper 4 horse race for GC.

Relax, offcourse he is not on TJV's payroll .
For sure, he took away the last of the bonus seconds by coming in third but had he done his fair bit of pulling and emptied himself, the damage at the top of Galibier would have likely been more than 7s (and Roglic and Remco).

Jonas was never going to catch him down that descend so an additional 5-10s in addition to the 7s at the top would have given Pogi a bigger gap in the end

    I am very relaxed ..... 😊

Ah, if only GC Kuss or Kruiswijk were around for that 2nd and 3rd week

Ayuso must be on TJV's payroll. What a chop for not doing a proper shaft and holding back yesterday.

Ayuso pulled with Roglic and Evenepoel to catch Jonas near the end, hence not on TJV's payroll .... 🤷‍♂️

At the risk of it being mentioned before (apologies if it has).....
Interesting observation: 21 Teams Total. 17 on Shimano Dura Ace. Only 4 on SRAM AXS. Shimano still clearly the favourite. Isn't it the other way around when it comes to MTB's? SRAM there more popular?

Yes SRAM is more popular on MTB, dont know why, I'm happily on Shimano with a AXS RD .... 🤪

    Bellville Willowbridge ?

Certainly not the service I have received over the past few years.

Hope this was a once off glitch from their side .... they normally are very helpful.

    Yes it was at Willowbridge.

And yes they were friendly and helpful, but as far as supplying parts, no way.

Seems like that is the business model in SA, since in other countries it is very possible to buy all the spare parts I need:

I see it’s disappeared from previous events too. It was there yesterday as I checked a few batches.

The other option is to sort by wave, in the all results view. But that also requires knowing on which page the group

The "Finish Time" position data (Pos, Cat, Gen) data for myself differ significantly with the "Sport Splitz" data.

The times are spot on the same though.  Wonder what the ... is up with that?  🤷‍♂️

  15. Very happy to finish my maiden CTCT in 4:52.  Started out very conservatively but went much faster to the end, no walking and minor little cramps.

All in all it went a lot better than 94.7 where I had terrible cramps and was reduced to walking many times, no walking yesterday though .... 😁.

Edit: Anyone know what the total starting number of riders?
