I see it’s disappeared from previous events too. It was there yesterday as I checked a few batches.

The other option is to sort by wave, in the all results view. But that also requires knowing on which page the group

The "Finish Time" position data (Pos, Cat, Gen) data for myself differ significantly with the "Sport Splitz" data.

The times are spot on the same though.  Wonder what the ... is up with that?  🤷‍♂️

  2. Very happy to finish my maiden CTCT in 4:52.  Started out very conservatively but went much faster to the end, no walking and minor little cramps.

All in all it went a lot better than 94.7 where I had terrible cramps and was reduced to walking many times, no walking yesterday though .... 😁.

Edit: Anyone know what the total starting number of riders?

  3. During our night ride last night someone mention a "Argus MTB" race the week before CTCT.  Is this still a thing?  Cant seem to find anything about it online since about 2014 ....

If so where can I enter?

Will be doing my first CTCT on the 10th .... 😊

I somehow managed to forget about OneUp in my recommendations. Also well worth checking out.

It doesn't matter how old the Fall Line is, if there's oil in there it's most likely toast. The trick is to have a dedicated shock pump for your seatpost so there's no chance of oil contamination, but at last count that recommendation was buried so far in the fine print you'd never find it.

Sadly I have only one shock pump and only pumped it once when I got it.  Hopefully it can be cleaned properly and be functional again.

I've dealt with these things extensively, and you have 3 options:

    1. Send it to me and I'll have a crack at it. It's usually oil contamination from a shock pump that causes this, and about 20% of the time cleaning out the brake assembly will get it working again. (20% was sadly not a typo.)

    2. Source a new brake assembly from 9.8, then see step 1. There may be others closer to you who can do it, but I'm not sure who they are.

    3. Bin it, get a Bikeyoke, Fox Transfer or Lyne Contour. Bikeyoke and Lyne for ease and economy of service, Transfer and Bikeyoke for bulletproof and no play, Lyne for range of sizes and wallet-friendliness.

    Thanks @droo

There is a local guy that will have a crack at it for me, if he dont succeed I will get back to you.

Its only 6 months old and I love the way it work (before this obviously).  I got a 100mm Specialized Command Post Ircc that I fitted back onto my bike until the 9.8 is fixed, The Spez is only 100mm travel.

I got used to the 200mm on the 9.8 very quickly .... 😊.

  6. Is there anyone with experience servicing these droppers?

Mine worked awesome for a while but now the brake is slipping.

I tried the "brake reset" procedure multiple times now without success.

It would be great if someone with experience can assist getting it in working order again.

Have completed 2 x Munga’s on a Rapide frame 😁. My 1st Munga was on a Scott RC full sus. The hardtail a much better option … and faster over the corrugation and technical sections. Very comfortable with Munga bars so can TT over those long straight district roads. I adapt the tyre pressure to the terrain to manage squish. Easy to convert to single speed if derailleur fails (big bonus). The sliding drop out is 👌 In my off season I convert to SS to get stronger. It’s so versatile, does everything well.

    Nice !!!  Thanks for posting.

Read this in another forum. Relates. People need to relax. Speaking as much to myself as to everyone else. I lost to my hooligan side again earlier when a Uber popped a red and tried to gap my lane. In that instance I very nearly intentionally stepped on his bonnet with my 4x4. Upon my exit and his excrementing his pants I came to my senses and wondered quietly what the actual . . . that was about.

In a country where the police & legal system is still working the way its supposed to, it should be fine to ride armed, unfortunately we are not so lucky, totally screwed, no matter what we do ...

    The Rapide finished the Munga.

I will never doubt the abilities of this bike again !😀

I am sure the rider was not bad either.👏👏

Nice !   Would be great if we can get a photo of it on here ... ☺️

I reeeeeally wanted the red frame, just no Mediums were available so settled on white...

That cherry red is gorgeous isn't it ... 😊.  If mine doesn't sell soon I'm going to break it up and sell the frame & components individually.  Unfortunately its a large, so wont work for you 😪.

Hi everyone. Hope you are well. I was wondering if I could get some of your opinions. I currently have a Sram XX1 gold edition groupset on my bike.

Is it worth it to upgrade to Sram GX AXS? Will I get a good second hand deal if I trade my derailleur and shiter for a GX? When I resell the bike would it be easier to sell it with a XX1 or GX AXS? Regards Edrich.

I'm riding GX AXS for a while now and love it, wont go back to mechanical.  Shifting is very good with no skipping.  It would be nice though if the individual gears could be fine tuned like you can do with Archers D1x Trail.  But if you set it up properly, shifting is perfect every time.

I did reduce the weight on mine by fitting a Garbaruk cage, now equivalent to a XX1 AXS.

I’m not an expert in this sweating and cramping matter, far from it, but I do understand the basic principles. You can easily work out how much you sweat per hour, without any fancy testing. However, the concentration of sodium in your sweat needs to be done with medical equipment.

For the test, weigh yourself before your ride (birthday suit weight). Weigh your bottles (empty and full). Take your closthes off after the ride and wipe any moisture off your skin, then weigh yourself again (birthday suit). Make a note of the amount of litres you consumed, and the duration of your ride.

    Example (weights in Kg):
    80.4(before) + 1.65 (2 full bottles) - 79.5 (after) - 0.15 (empty bottles) = 2.4kg or 2.4L / 3.5 hours (ride duration) = 0.68L/hour.

I’ll share a simple Excel file you can use to calculate your sweat rate. Mine is about 600ml/hour (outside), but double (indoors) on a hot day; probably because of the lack of adequate (evaporative) cooling.

You can test this a number of times to get an average sweat rate. Once you know that, you have a guideline, for what is required per hour.

If you know that your sweat concentration is, you will know which sodium replenishment rates are. Sweat concentrations can vary quite a lot, from 300mg to 1500mg.

I’ll share some links later/tomorrow relating to the physiology around blood volume, blood pressure, homeostasis, and other effects of sweat loss. I know enough to understand it, but not educate others.

Thanks Frosty, I will for sure go through the process of doing this.  Where can I go for the sweat testing nearby?

I was wondering last night, if the purpose of sweat is to cool us down via convection and evaporative heat transfer, why the hell are we (as humans) not sweat water only?  Why the NaCl also ...  as it is an important part of muscle function?

Probably impossible to get a good answer for this, was just wondering ....
