  1. Hi all. Bit of a off topic question. I am in need of an iPhone X to use as parts for mine. I use it as my “cycling computer” and due to some unfortunate events mine has taken some damage 😆 please let me know if anyone has one kicking around that I could buy off you or trade some bike bits for. smashed screen etc is okay aslong as the internals and cameras are working that’s cool. all the best
  2. Good morning all ! so I have this project I started that I need to sell to fund some other bits mavic wheels (some damage but perfectly true and definitely more than good for a single speed style like I was going for here) the frame had a old flaky paint job on it so I stripped it down. bars are cinelli, Seat is a selle italia Ferrari edition has a 600 series headset alu seat post some bontrager tyres open to any offers really can ship and box. would anyone be interested?

  4. I would get dave mercer to build me my dream bike
  5. Ride with both but you must gossip at different coffee shops so the barista doesn’t bust you.
  6. Hi all definitely not a throw away part but I am in need of an Ultegra RX rear mech ? Or a GRX rear mech 11 Speed ? thanks !
  7. Howdy anyone got a old set of mtb wheels ? 650b or 29er ? Nothing fancy at all. Happy to pay otherwise iv got some road bike stuff to trade. Frame and some build parts. Let me know.
  8. I recovered about 2 weeks ago, the 1st 7 days of iso where a laugh just a sore throat and a little (very ) tired . Day 8,9,10 I was hit with the stomach part of it that iv had a few friends experience also by far the worst the nausea etc. I’ll say it’s definitely set me back with training primarily my running. HR is still higher whilst running than pre covid. Even after two weeks post iso. very frustrating but I’m just taking it easy and slowly upping my distance and speed day by day. Would not recommend any form of strenuous exercise during the active period of covid but what I did do and mainly for my sanity was very short and slow walks in my road at night or early morning as to not bump into anyone and give them covid. good luck with it. This new omicron is definitely not as bad As our previous one just watch out for the tummy portion of it (if you get it ) according to google 1/5 get that symptom.
  9. That could work is it worthy or being cut up ? Will hopefully become something beautiful if all goes to plan !
  10. Hi all looking for a damaged alu or steel road bike frame (must have damage as I’m going to cut it up even more for a project. best wishes stavros
  11. I would say Facebook live is probably the easiest? Not so sure I’m sure there are some tech guys here that can give all the detail. I will ride for Francois once I am out of quarantine. 💪♥️
  12. Sending you strength. I am so so so sorry ! We are all here for you during this time ! may this incredible, strong inspirational man and boy what a man he was always speaking so highly of his wife, and teaching us all life long lessons rest in peace.
  13. Was thinking of Francois now and came on to check in. @*Reinet* Marais we all hold you and Francois in or prayers ♥️ Sending nothing but love and strength. 🙏
  14. You can still get to the view point. Just come round up W.K. Grobler to the top hit the gravel round the gate continue straight to the last tower (not the big one you pass at the start of the gravel) enjoy it new coffee shop is called “fine coffee “ there is also brenton hotel that have a lakker coffee shop at the beach !
  15. Cool route, avoid the section where you turn down brenton on lake and towards feather beds when I run there I call it my “tress passer route” residents there are full of it and the last section up to the heads is very private even a gate (can squeeze around ) but the last few km is very overgrown hardly run able defos not on a gravel bike. rather continue straight turn up WK GROBELAAR go to the top (enjoy the steepness ) ???? till it becomes gravel ignore the gate that says “private property “ it’s not iv had this checked and go till you reach the small cell tower and turn back. we have a new coffee shop open in brenton just before you reach the beach lovely owner she would love the support !
  16. @Kevin Simon parking is safe park on the island where the signs are about 50m away from where you turn off the n2 loads of cars park there for runs and rides never heard of an issue I often park there when I do tempo runs around the red bridge !
  17. I live up here and only ride alone … my meditation! So far touch wood no issues. Seven passes from phantom pass is epic and safe watch out on the reenendal road till you take the gravel turn off cars drive quite fast and there is no shoulder. the passes are all perfectly safe but always apply slight caution ⚠️ (I think us as South Africans do this automatically) a cool ride is from knysna to Union dale and back (or just a portion of the way and back if you are not keen for 100km plus round trip) you can park at the top of simola take the gouna turn off and go from there ! Safe and stunning. I’ll unfortunately be in CPT when you are up here otherwise wouldhave loved to link up for some rides. my routes are mostly. Gouna road/ kom se pad (i just take it from the simola side so I avoid any townships ) seven passes and then just some rides on the tar defos ride to brenton on sea epic climb my local as I live this side.
  18. Howdy ! Anyone got a 160mm 6 bolt disk floating around ? Or two ? ???? ???? in exchange ! ????
  19. Anyone with a dropper post they may not want / isn’t working properly but is repairable ? Want to try something with one on my one bike. 27.2mm ????
  20. You are a legend! Keep on at it ! Once you are better again we will make sure you get a bike again also ! Happy to hear you will be more mobile so soon !
  21. I always reply to a “is this available” with a “yes” reason being it may be a serious buyer and the “is this available “ is just his/her way of starting the conversation. when I respond to an add I do however try avoid the norm and I start it with something slightly more original that may catch the sellers eye and let him/her know that I’m a serious potential buyer if all checks out with the item that they have for sale. I avoid Facebook all together I’d rather give something away than sell it there. So many scammers and chancers that it’s actually not worth it at the end of the day.
