  1. My dealings with them have always been solid. Prompt delivery. Was a while ago now, but I can't fault them, really.
  2. Ja - I was a kid at the time. I think they caught the head honcho with a boot full of cash at the end of it all.
  3. I'm in. Will post a scale pic later today/tonite.
  4. Don't repaint - powdercoat. It's what I did and I am stoked with the outcome...
  5. Gerhard Odendaal takes the cake for that one! Incredible feat of weight loss he completed! Super respect for that dude! https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/129292-and-the-hubs-biggest-loser-is/
  6. 1.86m and 120kg here... Love me the flats and downhills for sure! Lucky i like burly bikes and solid wheels and big volume tyres!
  7. Gotta be in the region of 20-30k (at least) - i was quoted R34600 for a Salsa Deadwood, which is my ultimate dirt-touring rig - bar none.
  8. Great choice - this and the Krampus are perfect for SA conditions
  9. I've read countless journals on Crazyguyonabike - must be awesome to have the stars align so that a trip becomes a reality. Great stuff.
  10. Sounds awesome! Totally jealous....just don't tell my wife! Enjoy!!
  11. You're in Ptn - give Mark a go. He really is very good.
  12. Mark built my Flows - great job, still going strong. Tony is as good as Mark - no mistake - if you don't want to go out to Pinetown.
  13. Tony Pedro - Republic Sport and Adventure off North Coast Rd. He's my go-to guy since I don't get out to Good2Go anymore.
  14. Saw this on the Ibis feed on Instagram - looked amazing!
  15. Ja, but you ride so frikking fast, you only need a few Litres of space anyway. Us normal folk need big bags full of stuff....
  16. Definitely. My problem is that I ride mostly during the week, as I work weekends. Shout if you can make a Thursday.
  17. Please let me know if you go see him. If you wouldn't mind taking my template when/if you do. Thanks.
  18. Plenty stuff on frame bags, very little on saddle-bags.
  19. I was! Fat guy + steel + baggys + drop-bars = WTF?
  20. My recently refinished Cotic X at Holla yesterday... What an absolute blast! Awesome bike - I love it even more now. I got a few curious looks as I trundled past....
  21. Jeez...I go riding for a day and come back to an exploded thread! Love the interest this is generating. i am sticking with my DIY arrangement for a while - with a few tweaks, of course. It worked perfectly, and held together superbly. My rear harness is fashioned out of an old SADF pattern 73 grootsak, and the rest are dry-bags tied down by webbing with buckles. This stuff will probably outlast me. The kit will evolve, but the most important thing for me is to obtain a frame bag If you are racing, absolutely different story. Just riding or touring? Just make it work. You won't regret it!
