My guess is that they are roughly 300mm deep, 600mm by 400mm. The last water crossing is usually near condomo, but we have also had to cross water at the start of Neverender in 2011. Personally I have never bothered doing a clothing change and that includes socks, but I might just consider doing a sock change if you see the weather is getting really cold.Thanks B-mozz, those are some great tips. We're also first timers so all info is welcome!
How big are the boxes they give you? And is it one per team or one per rider?
Where is the last water crossing? So we don't have to pack a change of socks?

Not all of his advice is good.......he wears long white socks when he rides his mountain bike.
Hi Folks, if anyone is looking for a late spot on a Trans team please give me PM me. I think they are targeting around 16h 30m.
I ride it most weekends.....that is really amazing. Real class. I see that they didnt get to enjoy the full 50km route that we ride though.

Yes this is a true story. I woke up with serious flu, to find that Colin had chained my bike to a pole, and said it would be safe there as there was no way he was letting me ride. I just said "ok"...and went back to bed.I just remembered that last year at Trans Baviaans one of the two brothers woke up sick and wanted to ride. The other one then locked the bike so that the other one couldn't ride. Always looking out for each other.
Hi fellow mountain bikers, on behalf of our family and myself, my sincere thanks for the wonderful words posted here.
I cannot begin to express how great a loss this has been for Lolo and Jaryd and for myself. The memories I have from when we were kids to our teens when he would be my co-pilot, to varsity days to later when we would spend every moment possible on our bikes exploring and just living the dream.
Our other vice was coffee, and we saw each other at least every third day for lunch and coffee.
I consider myself to be blessed in that their was nothing left unsaid and that as brothers we truly loved each other, as he loved his family.
If you see me out there in the dirt please say hi and feel free to invite me for coffee.

I've done every Trans except one. Trans is what you make of it. Yeah its hard, but if anything, its more a mental challenge. If you have a half-decent amount of fitness, you WILL finish it. What makes or breaks it is whether you can push yourself to carry on if its cold and dark and you feel like k_k.
And you can ask Azonic if I can do it anyone can, although I don't eat as much chocolate as he does.

It is unwanted email.recieving viagra type emails take up time/data etc and is also unwanted.getting a newsletter (even from your local potato box hobby shop), which is unwanted (i.e you never asked for it), can this also be regarded as spam?if it is unwanted is it spam?Covie, agree its easy to stop on your side, but then fine line between when people decide that its acceptable and when not (ie. potato hobby shop newsletter is acceptable ... but viagra not)

Now that I like, I do that too, and what gets up my nose is when I hear someone refer to his beloved long suffering spouse as.....THE WIFE! Reaching out to others as you say with even the smallest, seemingly most insignificant act, can touch others hearts in a way that's being overlooked on a daily basis.
I make a definate point of calling petrol attendants and cashiers by their name(they always wear namebadges) and they like it. As a matter of fact I like it too and I know you, all of us like it too, that is, being called by our names. How many people just say "morning" or "hi". Who you talking to? My desk, my chair, my car, my bike?
Small thing but it works.

The way I understand it now is that if this was a Positive thread then everyone would be all depressed and negative.you know this is such a negative thread....
