  1. Thanks for the reply. I'm really trying to find the original before I switch to alternatives. I wonder where the bike shops themselves get this oil, I mean are they all buying from overseas? Do you use this Motul on a Rockshox Golden RL too? Of it's not giving you problems I guess it can work for me too
  2. Good day I plan to do a 50/200 hour service on my Rockshox Golden RL. I plan to do it myself but I'm missing one crucial thing, suspension oil, specifically the RockShox Suspension Oil, 15 Weight (15wt). It is the one that is listed in the Sram manual book for fork service. I tried looking for it online and it seems to be available only outside SA. Does anyone know where I can buy this suspension oil? I contacted one bike shop and they told me that they don't sell the oil to customers, one other bike shop mentioned that they even use motorbike suspension oil on the bike forks. I'm not sure what any other type of oil will do to my fork, is there anyone who uses other available alternative suspension oil to service their fork? UPDATE: Thanks for all the advice guys, I learned a lot about oils and viscosities and all!
  3. Thank you so much! Gosh! I just realized that there's even a "Stolen Bike" tab on this website. This is so not cool, we're living under so mjch threat in our country
  4. Awesome! Thanks for the reply. And which insurance companies insure bicycle in SA?
  5. Hey guys. I'm new to MTBing and just wanted to know how do you guys handle bike safety in SA. I used to ride my bike around my neighbourhood before as a kid in Bloemfontein, but now that I have a trail-ready hardtail MTB as an adult living overseas, I wanna start going out to bike trails but I wanna know how you guys keep safe while riding in Sa. Do you have trackers for your bike? Do you ride in groups? Do you carry pepper-sprays? My hardtail cost me close to R18000, which is a lot of money to spend as a student, the idea of having someone steal it while on a ride alone, freaks me out! I'm moving back to Bloemfontein next year, and I have no idea what the biking culture is like in SA.
  6. Yeah I can see the woodlands and Brandkop ones, glad Brandkop is has flowy trails because I live not far from there. I just had a look on trailforks and we have about 4 bike trails scattered around the city, but im grateful that we have trails at least, would've sucked a lot if we had nothing at all.
  7. Just recently boought this budget Merida BigTrail 200 hardtail Trail MTB, I'll be coming back home to Bloem in 2 years. Anyone know some mtb trails in Bloem, maybe an app I can use to see trails out there. Thanks.
  8. I'm new to cycling and I'd like to know the price range for beginner cyclocross or gravel bikes? I used to have a commuter MTB but sold it to start going into drop-bar bicycles. I didn't want a road bike because I wanted the ability to go off-road. Thanks
