A key role of a moderator is to ensure that discussions and debates are carried out in an appropriate manner. Moderators have the authority to edit, move, close and delete forum topics as well as individual posts. They can give out warnings when forum rules are broken and step in when things get out of hand. As a moderator they can still participate in discussions, debates and general chit chat. They are not expected to remain completely neutral or objective in general discussions, but are expected to be rational and reasonable when acting as a moderator.

If you want to have an eye candy thread - as has been done tastefully in the past - create one in the Chit Chat forum. BUT don't feel the need to continuously push the envelope even within these topics. If these images are posted in other topics they will be deleted without warning and your user account will be suspended for 7 days. If it happens again your account will be disabled permanently. Avatars Regarding the avatars similar will apply. Also on the point of avatars there are many users with avatars from other sources which have a big file size. The limit for uploaded avatars is 5kb - I'm now going to apply the same rule with external avatars. These images can slow down the loading of pages and most importantly eat up peoples bandwidth unnecessarily.

Dear members, As you may have noticed the thread containing information regarding CSA nominations and the Olympic team selection has been removed. Much of the information posted was confidential. The email regarding the Olympic team selection exposed information, breaching certain agreements, which threatened the participation of a South African cycling team at the Olympics. The Hub SA is all about freedom of speech, but when something threatens the future of cycling in this country and the future of South African cyclists something has to be done. There is a tutorial on posting a picture here: https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum_posts.asp?TID=8086 The image upload button doesn't appear on the 'Quick Reply' editor you see below the normal posts. You have to click the forum_images/post_reply.gifbutton to bring up the full editor. I use Firefox and have no problems - I have noticed the Google Ads causing issues sometimes, but nothing like you describe. Could you perhaps take a screenshot and send it to me?

Please do not put your email address in any forum posts. (A number of people do this when posting classifieds) Spambots can pick up your address and begin sending you spam. If you have posted your address I strongly suggest you edit it out (you can use the search function to find it).

It has never really been a major problem, but recently I've noticed an increase in news articles being cut 'n paste from other sites. In most cases this content would be protected by a copyright. If you'd like to post (copy and paste) a news article or content from another site post the first few lines of the article with a link to the full article. Exceptions will be made for anyone posting their own news releases, content etc.

I think that this is a good idea. It was actually on the cards quite some time ago, but there wasn't much interest - Now it seems there may be. I wouldn't have a problem with this from an advertising perspective. As some have said this would be providing a service to the clubs/their members and would ultimately be beneficial for The Hub. In terms of the setup it would not be too difficult - simply a matter of adding some forums and categories.

I think some of you are missing the point here. While this post has arisen from the "Sex blog..." post, there is a bigger issue at hand. The simple fact is: The Hub has gotten out of hand and something needs to be done. I will discuss possible solutions with the mods. Your suggestions are welcome.

My apologies Big H, I was busy testing something on the site which had a small error in the code. I didn't think it was necessary to discuss as it was fixed almost immediately.
