  2. Have a fair number of pics, so instead of slowing everything down I've posted a link for y'all. Also would like to avoid being castrated by admin. Image gallery-> Mazda/MTN Downhill MTB- National at Gilloolys Farmdanger dassie2008-02-12 05:30:31
  3. Saloman, Fox, Karrimor and Dakine all make quality hydration packs for good value and look just as cool as anything else out there. As great as the Camelbaks are, they're a bit ott in terms of price. This is my dakine ... , similar kit toohttp://www.nsmb.com/images/gear/dakine07/seqopen.jpg
  4. Glad to you found it worthwhile
  5. Top guys, glad that Gavin decided to take the plunge and start this. With the growth of mountain biking there really is a market for domething like this.
  6. Pic didn't come up, but I'm sure you caught him on a good day. Besides he is a politician, they very rarely are taken seriously.... at least they dress properly though, like a wolf in sheep's clothing
  7. Guess the PM of Japan should read this then.....
  8. idrive, you talking about the one where some dude stood with a paddle and tapped it on your number board? Had the same problem as you and sweet ef all concern from the organisers. Problem with those boards though is that the foam thing contains the chip and the actual number is a sleeve. So that leaves the system wide open for a stuff up, like the wrong foam insert in the wrong numbered sleeve. What worries me is that the powers that be have named that same timing company as the official timing provider for MTB.
  9. I never got a cap By the by, it also helps to check who is the underwriter of any finance provider.
  10. I think FNB also offer a 'leisure finance' deal, remember seeing something like that at Cycle Lab. Unless it was actually Wesbank like Silverboy suggested. Seem to be a range of options, maybe a good idea to see who offers the best deal.
  11. I've heard of it at NF as well, both places it's fairly easy to organise a lid. Maybe some people have a thicker skull than others.
  12. ...... caffeine works for me, waiting for a cup to brew.
  13. Having ridden at both NF and Groenies these last 3 weeks I've noticed 4 riders not wearing a lid. Both these venues make a point of No helmet No ride, what the hell is so hard to understand? It doesn't matter what your opinion on helmets is! Maybe it's time to enforce a R500 fine for people riding in these ares without a helmet, plus one times phat PK. It's especially annoying when at both venues, all one has to do is pull finger and fuggin ask for a loan helmet. In fact Groenies has brain buckets for rent. t**sers!
  14. EWEP it's not just cyclists they endanger, but other road users as well. Had my fill of RSS, ADT and SAS with their driving antics.
  15. Damit man, shall ride with you next time and dump my kit with yours....
  16. Contact Debbie on 082 533 4545 for enquiries. www.northernfarm.co.za Like HR I've never had a problem there and have generally experianced only coureous behaviour from any 4x4 drivers. Bear in mind many birders drive to different parts of the farm, often three or four up.
  17. Were they being reckless? How does one know if they weren't there for bird watching? What constitutes a convoy?
  18. Take it to Northern Farm, the little shop where they wash the bikes is part of the Diepsloot Bike Project. I just took a load of gear there after enquiries with Brian Nash.
  19. Yeah, think the US olympic track team used it..... they got bronze
  20. I tend to agree there, although MBUK rated it as a well priced bike with the performance of high end frames. Probably a niche market where we could fit in nicely. I had a Produx for about two years, wasn't happy at all unfortunately. I did ride it hard, but expected more and felt let down by the support as well.
  21. Still have a few left if anyone's still wanting. Jhb area.danger dassie2008-01-21 06:38:38
