  1. Sweetness then. Time, location, distance?
  2. Guys, this ride next Sunday. Room for one more?
  3. ewep- My bad sorry, I was supposed to say "without lights"
  4. Whilst we're on the topic of morons, riders who do rides at dusk and night time, without lights. I give you the finger! There's no justification for such stupidity, guess you really want to test that shiny new Giro lid! danger dassie2007-10-31 00:32:01
  5. Very nice guvnor, just that funny looking bike with the strange handlebars and skinny tyres. Ruins the shot. Jokes aside, very cool. Always nice to get new bikes and kit.
  6. Are those wooden floors? ... Nice, move that funny looking bike though
  7. Heh, no need to be more or less ambivalent. As to the point of the chain, I never said anything of the chain stretching at all. You do this for a living in the industry, whilst I work in a different industy. So while I may not agree, it's only with a pinch of salt that I disagree. Sarcasm aside, thanks for the in explanation though, it does clarify a few things.
  8. I don't agree perse, just about anything used to drive with tension. Such as cable actuation, will stretch. Granted cable wear when in use is higher than that when left in tension. Perhaps newer cables today hold their lifespan better though. I'm not knocking your view, just saying I don't agree 100%, so back away from the multi-tool
  9. Thats why I said "Mr Min", aerosol furniture polish doesn't gather dust. Especialy on a muddy ride. Spray & Cake/Spray & Cook is a completely different product. @linnega - true, hydrualic systems aren't that complicated. But for Joe/Jane average they can quickly become a pain.
  10. Yip, therby extending the lifespan. Another helpful thing, before a muddy/wet ride, spray the bike with mr min. Makes life a whole easier after the ride and combats dirt build up on the ride. Almost forgot, don't get any on the braking surfaces. Unless you're into that kind of thing. danger dassie2007-10-30 01:21:19
  11. Roadies, can never finish a whole one without sauce ...
  12. ewep, i'm with you on the time thing. Especially when it comes to servicing things like hydraulic brake systems, suspension and wheel builds. 85% of bike maintenance can be done by the rider though, personaly I only ever take my bike in for the forks. One important thing that people tend overlook is gearing down after a ride to let cables slack, doing just that prolongs cable life.
  13. Nay I have not, don't like to torture myself! As for colour coordination, I like to do it in the dirt!
  14. Haha, so tru that. I've had so many MTBs over the years, yet my obsession is with the ride not the bike.... having said that, my wet dream motorbike is a Dakar 650
  15. The real Mint Sauce wouldn't ride it.... and Jo Burt would make sure of that! oink ->
  16. @rentsmart www.thinkbike.co.za
  17. A good descriptive for that bike would be- "Your mom's quite nice hey"
  18. Erk Shall check on that, el pronto Just spoke to the admin peoples, Ride for Victory is up and crater shall be up later in the week.danger dassie2007-10-29 07:07:48
  19. You're kidding? There were four of us out on the route- www.mypicture.co.za Doubt they'll be up yet though, should be by tomorrow or Wed.
  20. Dunno about him, but most of us use lackey bands, tape and plastic bags. Cheap and nasty, but gets the kob done guvnor
  21. I don't think it's restricted to a particular group of road users, fact is if you drive like a twat, then you'll motorcycle, run, walk, skate, cycle or moonwalk like a twat on the road. Driving to work I had an idiot in his silver peugot with a red Schwinn on the bike rack force his way in front of me, on the highway during peak traffic. I had to hit brakes to avoid rear ending him and nearly had the guy behind me drive into me. I flashed him and he then braked hard, now imagine how he rides his bicycle. Admitedly I shouldn't have flashed the said muppet, but I reckon the situation illustrated what aggro idiot road users we are in general.
