  1. Get a room or grow up and have your tiffs somewhere else.
  2. Do yourself a favour and let the original guys redo the brakes for you. Will probably save your warranty with them as well. Might be more effort but in the long run worth it.
  3. Went to the Knysna races this weekend. Got to say I was shocked on friday to learn that you had to buy a additional day CSA lisence for any ride longer than 20km for R30. I ride the mountain and 1/2 the time don't even use the road!!!! Since when has this been the norm? The guy in front told me its been like that the whole year! Yet, I havent paid zonkers so far at any races in 2008? What profit margin are the organisers looking at if pick n pay sponsored half of everything?? Why are we paying so much for our races?? Can someone guide me to the thruthful answers?
  4. < id=P1631 = value=1631 name=votice>Two47 [31.76%]< id=P1632 = value=1632 name=votice>Between 2 & 675 [50.68%]Bit contradicting isn't it? For which TWO do I vote??
  5. This is ridiculous.....
  6. Definitely was a great ride! We've got to try and make it a regular one. One thing though, can everyone send me their "hub name" together with their real names. At the moment I know the faces and name but can't put them together. I'll publish a list as soon as I've got most of the names. Enjoy Jonkershoek! GT Zaskar Pro = Jacques Cilliers
  7. If you need anything along the lines of graphic design, branding, printing stickers I can HIGHLY recommend A-type grafix in CPT. They did my company's logo design, comp slips, letterheads, B/cards and all the stickers all for a very reasonable price!! Speak to Ruan(072 673 1669) and just say Jacques refered you.
  8. Jis BMC fan - is julle planne nog aan vir saterdag? Sal graag wil join en paar van die name by gesigte wil sit!
  9. Dick & samma, w.t.f? Campy on a mtb??!! Don't want to look like a complete "tietneus" !! I'll take it to the LBS after the weekend - have to ride!! Thanks for the input guys!
  10. My BB has started with a crunching sound after the breedevalley race on saturday after I cleaned the bike. Sounds like sand in there, but I thought it is a sealed unit?(Merida HFS 3000 2008 model with XT shadow groupset and cranks) Is this normal or should I take back to my LBS? I've only had the bike for +-4weeks now and did +-600km Any advice will be appreciated!
  11. I had the same problem with my girlfriend's Scott reflex 20(Avid Juicy 3 brakes). The brakes just didn't have any oomph and you had to pull way too hard to stop. I took alcohol swabs and cleaned the disks & pads and afterwards bled both F&R systems. They work a 100% better now. Look on the manufacturers website for tips and instructions on how to bleed brakes. It's not that difficult.
  12. I agree with Hog, try your best to up your budget to +-R3500 and go for the GT avalanche range or even the mongoose tyax elite. Very good entry level bikes. Maybe your LBS will even throw in some freebies like a helmet and gloves....
  13. Ian J and Holy roller, I sent my bud there to look at the bike not buy it there(they have a nice variety on the floor) but, he couldn't wait and bought the bikes there. So it was partly my and his fault. BUT lets not get into my stupidity - we're talking about bad and good service here,
  14. Anyone been on hellopeter.com lately? B.T.W. A friend of mine wanted to start MTB?ng and I direct him to a shop in canal walk where he bought TWO bikes(plus gear etc) on saturday for him and wifey coming to a total of +-R14k and the shop did not even set the suspension up for him! He was totally oblivious that the shops should do it for you and had no idea how in the first place. I for one have had 4 bad experiences with this shop(on 1 occasion the assistant helped me with a smokers breath!!!!) and I will never spend on more cent with them. One a positive note - there's a shop at cape gate that give you fantastic service, good prices and quality product!! See, that was easy, I never mentioned a shop or brand name:-)
  15. Schwable Racing Ralph 2.1 (so far so good-only done about 120km on them) Previously Continental Vapor(frnt) and Gravity(rear) great tyres
