And as a perant the thought never crossed your mind that the deal was suspect. Proceeded to book a service and flip it for 20k profit. A cyclist and Hub member for a few years can't tell me you didn't have a suspicion.

    THIS...

Also how old is @Jordan Van den heever and did Daddy @Oliver1012 fund this purchase?

I'm with the guys on here who say that as a hub member for a few years already and with the knowledge of taking it to CWC for a service, they were both well aware that 4.5k was an absolute "steal"...

    excuse the pun

Gut feeling is telling me it wasn't sold, Perhaps he was made aware of this post on bikehub and then marked it as sold.

If it was sold, Then atleast the seller seems like a real person judging by that FB profile, He then needs to give you the details of who he sold the bike to and the cops can go fetch it, The money paid then becomes and issue between him and the seller, Not you.

Please keep us in the loop about what happens, Because either 1 he has the bike or 2 he sold it or 3 he had it, realises not it's hot property and has moved it on.

    Hello, Online Community

I am interested in customer reviews of the Canyon distributor and shop in Stellenbosch as I want to trade with them. Please send me some details about the quality of your customer experience, and with follow-up service?

    Dankie.

You can't do that, Then you going to have to change your handle and we all know you as 'Dale 😉

Next year he should come down with a Ducati Panigale, maybe he'll finally clock in a sub 3 and be able to brag in front of absolutely no one about his achievement

Which restaurant serves these and are they for starters or mains?

I am genuinely wondering though how many guys actually never entered as an E-Bike rider and rode in the seeded bunches. In a few years' time when meeting new cycling mates, as always the guys 1st qu will be "road, MTB or Gravel?" and then hearing then when hearing them brag about their sub3 CTCT times, pretty sure the next qu will be "Ebike?"

    Good morning, Hubber historians.

I spotted a race this morning called the Tour of South Africa, which took place once only in 2011. Some Englishman took the win, but a few big Saffas in the mix.

    Why did it die?

Something funny about STAGE 2 - Sandton to Sandton was never completed due to too much traffic on the parcours. It seems like nothing has changed. https://cqranking.com/men/asp/gen/race.asp?raceid=19946

    Stage 4 looked brutal.

    @Action_Man and details?

I just have two issues/questions about the CTCT, why would the organisers only allow one coke and one water at the finish line? I did not need to stop at any of the water points yet I am allowed one coke at the finish? Seriously, that could be done better.

Not sure how you propose that they tackle this "issue"??

Does everyone get like a few "tokens" in their racepacks which you put in your pocket and when you stop along the route you have to scratch through your pockets to find your tokens which waste valuable time for those chasing a time who maybe just need a little boost, what if you forget your tokens in the car, No coke all the way around then. And for those who don't use the tokens at all on the road, do you then claim all your cokes at the finish?

On the route you get coke or water poured in a paper cup, often the coke/water is warm and it's about 150ml, at the finish you get a can and a bottle of water which is always cold, already 2 items. Not sure how many you are wanting to take, if you would be happy with 2, the next Oom would maybe want 4 because he is thinking of his post-race brannas, where do they draw the line? I'll be honest there have been Cycle Tours I've chugged the 1st 1 as I got it and taken another 1 at the end table without any complaints from the staff, However I've never attempted to take more. Again, Where do they draw the line then to keep the, well quite obvious minority happy?

    ebikes = don't go faster than 3:50

Here is the current list of naughty boys (and girls), who need to go sit in the corner and apologise!

I was on Suikerbossie, saw a gentleman with a 1A seeding number on a road E-Bike flying up, Not sure if it's the same guy who is on the list with a 3:15 but a possibility indeed as my mates who finished in 3:15 or so were just ahead.

I heard about it from a neighbour and the story was naturally very different

you know the cyclists are cretins narrative

I'm struggling to think of how any version other than @Jewbacca is a possibility.

Pedestrian gets knocked into by cyclists IN THE ROAD on a day where the road is closed specifically because there is a cycling race happening.  Did she push the little button at the traffic light and the traffic light went red and the little man went green and she thought it was her right of way or she was knocked on the right hand side of the road and perhaps thought that the cyclists had to stay on the left?? I'm struggling to figure out how the cyclists taking part in the race could be to blame by anyone with common sense in your neighbourhood LOL

  9. Get them to send collection driver to "meet you" at some shopping centre, then when he responds tell him you mentioned the wrong one but you're waiting at 1 close by, They will send the driver to there. Keep this going as long as you can, I've done it, feels great afterwards knowing they're actually losing out because petrol aint cheap.

must have been the cyclists fault. He probably was not wearing a hi viz jacket, was not riding in the dirt on the side of the road and his bike did not have a number plate.

I know this is sarcasm and a did giggle and appreciate this as I was going to add at the bottom "Probably the cyclists fault", The irony is though that he is wearing the lumo yellow PPA top in the video.

    Me.

I was warming up to meet my training group this morning and was inside the yellow shoulder on the way to Cape Town stadium. Then the TV channel switched and I was flung somewhere and, getting up, I couldn’t see the car. The rear view mirror and fender guard left behind on the scene was off a Renault Kwid, not many of them around.

I am privileged to have an excellent health care network around me and hope to fully recover - very eina right leg, fractured ribs and scrapes and bruises, fortunately my spine and brain intact.

I am a lucky man. Please send healing vibes, Peoples.💛

just use some duct tape and she will be good to go, if that doesn't work, you're not using enough duct tape LOL

Jokes aside, Heal up champ and strongs with the physical rehab, Mentally I don't think there are many who are as strong as you, especially in the sporting world with it being your profession and with your success you have achieved in that department, So mentally I believe you will beat this, So heal up physically champ and pretty sure we will be seeing those sick sunrise pics again very soon. All the best.

this - in the last few days, shows the 'Taxi Rush' i mentioned in an earlier post...

    Taxi overtaking and accident.jpg

Seen this numerous times riding up Llandudno, Taxi's overtaking cars on the descent toward Town on the solid double lines, even as close as Bakoven on the blind corner just before the Bootlegger, Heard screeching tyres once from someone slamming on the brakes and 10 seconds later a taxi passed us.

  13. Just seen a video, Cyclist knocked down on Vanguard Drive, Taxi on it's side on the island, another car which looks to be almost in half also on the other side of the island. Happened in peak hour, 1 of the vehicles involved must've been going REALLY fast for that kind of impact to cause so much damage to both vehicles, and driving pretty recklessly considering it was in peak hour. I'm not a betting man but if I was, My money is on the taxi being guilty.

Also hope the cyclist is ok, Seemed to be laying on his back, backpack under his head, assuming to keep him comfortable, but wasn't moving in the video(Not assuming anything bad, he just didn't move in the video), another cyclist was also on scene helping out. passengers still stuck in the taxi aswell.

Not a nice start to a Monday morning, or any morning for that matter.

    Hi There

Is there any way to view favourite ads that may have expired, but have not been delisted? I've had my eye on something for a while and would like to make a move on it, but have not been notified that it has been sold. I'm hoping it is just expired and still available, if I could at least make contact with the seller to confirm, it would be a big help

I PM'd admin once with nothing but the name of a bike which I was looking for which had expired and the managed to send me the ad and I contacted the seller.

Totally agree. Played golf my whole life. Im in my early 60s now, and took up cycling about 7 years ago and never for a second thought it would have as many "look at me and how important I am" type people riding bicycles! Quite weird at first because I always thought golfers were king of that pile. And it's definitely getting worse as the years go on.

Must agree, At the golf course as you drive in you obviously see the 2Mill ,3Mill and even 4 Mill cars parked in the members spots, But I've never walkeed in and felt judged at a golf course for not wearing a Titleist or Nike or Under Armour top and shorts or if they done match and aren't of the same brand, same with my shoes(Even though they're quite fancy), Nobody check as them out to make sure they're "worthy" at the course you're at be it Westlake, Steenberg, Royal Cape, Rondebosch or even Pearl Valley. Also never had anyone check out my bag and what clubs I'm using etc so they can "categorise" me, however on the contrary, Pull up to a race or coffee shop on your bike and you best not be wearing Enjoy Bibs with a Ciovita top and a no name helmet and cheap shades with standard wheels and mechanical gearing because then you're almost "not welcome" in the peloton(Not by all, But definitely by some).

Maroesjka Matthee was going to be the team manager for a number of Western Cape riders.  But she was hospitalised as a result of a hit-and-run incident in Worcester.  Thankfully eyewitnesses gave chase and the perp did not get away.  Not that it makes any difference as she cant be there for her team members.

    BEST wishes to the riders.

    Saw that, Extremely sad.

Also of SA's brightest young riders with previous national honours both of the road and track, Jessie Munton was hit by a vehicle whilst on a training camp. It happened 2 weeks ago and the last update from her brother Byron was that she was still in an induced Coma (this was the start of this week if memory serves).

It’s embarrassing yes, but it’s just a banner, sometimes people will latch onto something like a rabid dog and run with it.  Overall the event is actually running well on the ground, credit where it’s due.

Yeah look credit where it's due. Several mates are there and none have any complaints of the event itself, the way it's being run, the organization etc etc so kudos to them for that.
