  1. Sorry only saw this now. Ryan was upping the pace got away from the peleton - dont recall Marc staying with him long though - Marc was back in the chasing bunch into the reserve
  2. Was in the convoy Break went up the road and managed 5 min at some point. Tristan was in there no other threats. On the last lap the gap came down. On the road leading to SBR there wasa crossswind from right to left. The pace got hard en the peleton was strung out and then gaps appeared - those out of position lost out and got into scattered bunches. Tristan was lone leader with 2 mins or so. At that stage also Ryan got away. Into the reserve it all fel apart. The bunch was down to about 12and they were dropping one by one. Morne got away slowly and was thus 3rd on the road. The remaining small bunch out of the reserve was only Reinie, Marc and 3 u23s (who ended up sprinting for their own podium). So Ryan did catch Tristan at the exit and rode away. Won by like 2 mins from Tristan who was in front of Morne.

    The Munga 2023

Approaching 200km its very early to judge. I think Drikus is going too hard, Willie is the dark horse but inexperienced at this it will count against him this uncertainty - and his plan not to sleep hmmmm. Thinus - too young his also not known for this distances. David is good but 800km to go still... To me they all playing into the hands of Hansie.

  15. Saw this: Dear Cycling SA Member, Kindly note that the Cycling SA App (Membership & Licensing Portal) will permanently be removed from the Google Play and App Store on 11th August 2023. Please note that the membership portal will still be available via a web browser, therefore, as from 12 August 2023, members will only be able to access the membership portal via https://www.cyclingsa-events.co.za/app_v2/.
  16. Too close to replace it now - sadly we will need to proceed without the Satellite. There will be an updated post this week will share it here too.
  17. Hi, I just played the gameboard and got 125 points! Very sure the lowest used to be 150 points = one coffee. 125 points is NOT one coffee any more.
  18. .... and Covid. Covid changed how we think and how we cycle. we just never got back into the groove and event organizer took a beating with sponsors. Its a different world.
  19. National road series champion badge 🎖️ We dont have much to offer this year (yet, maybe an invitation to the annual awards ceremony?)- if it takes off and there is interest, then we can negotiate with some leverage with the EOs and potential sponsors - baby steps unfortunately. The Aus road series is hugely popular but it took them a few years. One of the potential spinoff can be to include criteriums or road races with criteriums (both for adults and to offer raicng to youths) - remember the crits after Emperors? Can not be colours unfortunately - colours you earn when you represent your country or province.
  20. Hi guys - here are the rules for the series - lets have it and be kind please. Reminder its a pilot with the aim to test and learn for a proper 2024 national road series 2023 National road series.pdf

  22. Guys were going of the topic here - we have announced a pilot road series of 6 races and we want to make it work - we have identified races and those EOs agreed to work with us. We will publish the rules soon. But please share ideas. Lets keep talking about how we make it work for all of us. --------------------------------------------------- Which categories should be in the series? Teams: elite/u23 men, elit/u23 women (apparantly we should not call the ladies), vets per age group Individuals: Juniors, Elites/U23 men, women, Vet A, B, C and D men and women
  23. Yes of course best out of 3 - the rules will be released soon!
