  1. I did it on my gravel bike with 32c's now that was loads of fun. Kirstenbosch through Newlands Forest then descending Block House & the last single track on Signal Hill what a jol.
  2. Intentionally "missed" it's just not practical to tag +100 cannons scattered all around Cape Town. It's only required to pass the Cape Point gate to complete the route, if you really want to then by all means pay, enter the gate & tag away. There is another Cannon in Kommetjie where we just ride past the location of the cannon which is quite a hike to get to, again not a must but optional if you really need to. Same with the canon at Apostle Battery where the gate is always locked. Good luck with planning entry to the Noon Gun and still wanting to complete the route on the same day.
  3. are you using it as a stop over or returning the next day? can definitely be ridden in one day, I reckon 6 hours plus a lunch stop.
  4. Road bike or Off-Road Bike? You could do this or a variation of it i.e. at Melkbos take the Melkbosstrand Road then left on the Mamre Road.
  5. There were roving medics on Scramblers on Stage 6 with one or 2 following behind the last riders & the Hyenas so no problem reaching a rider in need.
  6. Only if OP is from Cape Town, this race starts in the North West Province of South Africa.
  7. Thought I recognized that name, Youcef use to be on the MTN Qhubheka squad back in the days. Travis getting some consistent results there.
  8. Not even that long ago. App was still in use about 2 years ago.
  9. Is it really worth it? I honestly dont think so. You have to prepare your own bottles with your own preference of nutrition mix the day before, hand it in before a certain cut off time and then get it a designated point only once during the stage. If you racing it and your gut can only handle what you are use to then go for it. Otherwise filling up from the water points did the trick for me last year.
  10. looks like a gillet to me & his result is on Racetec.
  11. Yeah all of them owned by the XCM riders except Sky Dive which Michard Meets took. So we basically did the XCM & Enduro events ….on 2 water bottles 🤪
  12. How many stages were there, I did the XCM and kept getting these Stage start and end signs then it clicked this is probably the same segments the Enduro event happening later are using. I wonder if Strava will record the fastest times coming from the Pros that did the XCM🧐🤔🫣
  13. I see so, Well Done Guys!!! As I said earlier in this thread Barnie never got to race against the WilcoNator back in 2019 edition 👏 🤙
  14. I think he has finally met his match in the WilcoNator. Don’t let him break away if he does go with him. I see he brought a team mate with this time around so tactics might play out there. Still early days.
  15. https://firstcycling.com/race.php?r=277&y=2023 looks like Alan managed to finish in the bunch no Tyler, anyone know what happened?
  16. Whooo that is going to be interesting.
  17. Yeah but luckily based on looks alone I can still qualify as a Junior 🤪🤣
  18. Shoo, barring any incidents I is see it's going to be the Barnabas Purbrook Show again in the 30-39 Category. That Pom single handedly destroyed the SV's a couple of years ago at TOGH.
  19. just go and have fun, dont try race it and you'll have a blast!
  20. disappointing, I always thought you were up for a challenge.
  21. Darren is this you, same handle on other social media platforms.
  22. Does that mean I'll be seeing you on the line on Saturday?
  23. ok hold on 😅, 6x u23 just went Sub 36mins
  24. Nope, watch later, he'll even be Top 10 after the Elites had a go.
