  1. The Strava Segment from bottom to top of The Mast (green & yellow lines) is called “Tygerberg’s Toughest Climb” give it a go, speaking under correction here but I think it’s just over 2kms at an average gradient of 12%
  2. Only fun when you are the one causing havoc & podiuming and putting the rest in the hurt box 😝
  3. Unfortunately not but thanks for the explanation.
  4. I'm confused, so where does a rider that is usually a Veteran age cat, compete?
  5. if you want to get back to the top, to do a 2nd lap of Supertubes that climb is steep AF. doable but as the other have stated lose & rocky, will test your track stand skills, your low cadence & your high cadence at the same time, dont be surprised if you grind to a halt and have to walk a short distance where it flattens out to remount. Dorsberg doesnt compare. I have also not been to Meerendal in ages either,
  6. All weather dependent. 2008 had good weather therefore everyone and his cat got a sub 3. Yes, Sub 3 is still considered an achievement for most.
  7. Excellent footage. I’ve had the pleasure of doing the 2 day MTB stage race once before almost 10 years ago. Always wanted to go back again but it clashes with Double Century.
  8. I was just reading your winning race report last night, did you know we were about to be hit so hard with COVID? Could you not have wished for something else instead? 🤪😅
  9. Technically you are still a Tygerberg club member until end of January assuming you have the 2022 membership? So this should allow you to enter in the meantime.
  10. MTB with sufficient great-granny-gear in case the wheels come off on that long climb
  11. Learn to nose wheelie around tight switch backs 😜
  12. Just a do a segment search of the area, the Cape Pioneer MTB stage race has been riding to & from Louvain for a number of years now.
  13. All I can tell you guys bring your climbing legs, if the ones you bring fail you on the day have a back up plan in the form of being able to push your bike up and downhill. Practice riding & walking tight switchbacks wherever you can, go as far as placing two cones in parking lot at what you think is impossible distance and try squeezing through there. I am not exaggerating. Oh and Dropper post Is a must oh one more whatever gear you riding now go lighter by 2-4 teeth.
  14. oh seems like they condensed the 2 day into a 1 day by offering an 85km Marathon distance option.
  15. it is still on the calendar albeit at a premium.
  16. 🤣 that opening line. I know very well who his mate was that was defending him but I can't say it out loud. I basically gave up on Zwift racing because of these types of performances but especially from +-60 year old's kicking ass week in and week out
  17. more teams = more money in the bank. Reverse order should encourage teams to ride faster if they dont want to be out there later than 3pm.
  18. So rather let cyclists kill themselves by forcing racing teams to over take inconsiderate social teams not wanting to keep single file and far left as possible, on the right hand side of the road head on into oncoming traffic, than to kill off the event by letting slower teams start last ? 🧐🤔 ok let’s go with this option then 👍🏻 If the racing teams have to wait until it’s safe to overtake it might not happen or it could mean losing out on minutes which often decides the winner, this year it was 7 minutes. As mentioned already the COVID year it worked well when fastest teams jumped away first 🤷🏼‍♂️
  19. Faster teams should start first. End of story. It will be less dangerous for everyone and more fair for Teams gunning for Top 10
  20. Is that previous winner Marco Zombie Martins back for another bite of the apple?
  21. Oh right, black is the new whitish-redish tank emptying savages. Good day out with the boys 🤙🏻
  22. That was the ploy *boom* so much for the leaked game plan 😜😝🤣 white is the new red.
  23. Tomorrow this time we should know if that was a good or bad thing 🫣
