  1. A chainguide isn't going to rattle on a road commute......

I've had 1 of those boys too and my bike sounded like a bag of spanners falling down the stairs until I remedied the situation with velcro. In fact I think it's still in my box of spares.

    Look that's just my experience.

Done 2 Alps trips with NW and never lost a chain so for me chainguides are confined to the history books. Anyone who's ridden Les Gets Main line will know if there's a place in the world you will lose a chain it's there. There are about 100000000000000000000000 braking bumps on that trail.

    Which NW ring you using?

  2. I'm sure. I just think these are a more imaginative choice. I see more value in trying something different for myself and seeing the results as apposed to just going with what everyone likes.

    Just joking..

On a other note. The commuter has now had a purgatory in GRiD version. 2.3 wide. It is light and very nice!

Also, I had about 40km on a 2.25 trail boss (with a tube). Very nice too. Rolls much faster than the purgatory. I'm yet to push the tyre though... will give it some more time. It's heavy though.

Note I used both tyres on the front.. but at different times. The Boss has short centre knobs and high side knobs.. probably why it rolls so well. Also nice under braking.

  3. Bead is stuffed.

Okay.. but it is seated now and it's been around 80km later... so... I'm a bit lazy to take off.. New rubber=money. So gonna ride it for as long as I can.

    It's just so visually disturbing.

  4. You probably can't. You're in for some new rubber. Always make sure your tyre is correctly seated before inflating it and never exceed the pressures noted on the tyre sidewall.

Used the pump at fuel station...[emoji19]

  5. Sorry to just drop in.. have a tyre question.

My front tyre which is a purgatory (GRiD) on an Arch ex 29" rim, is running skew :cursing:  ...before I got the tyre to inflate, it exploded off the rim.

the rim is perfectly true, but the tyre looks like it is "buckled" <<<for lack of a better way to explain..

How do I get it right?
