  1. Shoe! the politicians in Boland seem to be walking more of a fine line than the once in parlement. Lem, our thjoughts are with you. See what happens when you try and give back to the sport.............again!!!!! Stick it out for a while before you kick them into touch. if you do we will understand. thier loss if it happens.
  2. Whoa, look what was just thrown at me when I tried to post my first message for the day!!!! Has this happend to anyone before, I was also not able to upload images yesterday. 3. So let's hijack this one too........who D&P#'s in the boland? Just jidding. When, how much and what route? could be interesting???? Give us info Lem!!!!!
  4. Back to the thread.................I prefer these legs!! Oops, sorry I don't seem to be able to upload images anymore????? Is this not allowed anymore, or have i lost my way?
  5. 11-34 this allows you to spend more time in the middle blade. Then again don't trust me, I spent a lot of time in the small blade at Lourensford.
  6. No Risk no Gain.. got to try Faster - Bigger. It's the only way we can get better. However, of late after the last few falls, i must admit i have been very carfull, but it will change again. I had my tyres to had in the KtoC and had a big moment on one of the first turns going down the pass. after this i was realy a wimp. someone even caught me on the downhills. Most embarrasing!
  7. Practice on smaller ones till you are confident and then check the line of the more experienced...........THEN GO FOR IT!! If you are going to fall you will. I have done more endovers than i can care to remember on drop-off's and obsticals that i am comfortable with than on new ones. I think I get too ballsy and push too far/fast for my own good.

    PPA 3day

It was waited for, everybody that i know kenw it was going to happen and all indications were October/November. This will be good trainig for the DC!!
  9. That drop off looks so much easier from this angle, but this is through rested sober eyes now.
  10. And to think this was on of the easier sections of the course. This was by far the most technical PPA MTB ride I have ever done. sections of the course were reminicent of XC lap racing. super fun. I also lernt another valuable lesson, don't ever ride with a hangover. it tackes the edge off and you often miss the correct lines. not fun at all.
  11. if you want the profile, draw a zigzag line and there you have it. Lots of shortish very sharpish climbes. Up Down Up down..... I never know there could be so many climbs behind Pappegaaiberg.
  12. Seems like we have lost the plot here again. Some of us seem to be attacking the man and not the ball. We can continue to throw mud at the entities on the hub, but it is a waste of time. Niether Gift nor Chanky are going to back down, so this thread is goinbg to continue to spiral out of control. Gift, Chunky whoever else is involved, lets try and get facts out in the open not small titbits of inuendo. For the rest of the plebs like me is seems as if everybody knows somthing, but is not sure or willing to disclose all the information. would be nice if we can open this up properly, or leave it untill the facts can be made known. Then again is it fun to see the two of you going at is so hard.
  13. And the answer is!???? I don't know what you are all talking about.
  14. Riding in the rain is OK, just keep your cheque book handy the mud eats drivetrains in a flash. Still it is quite a bit of fun if it's not too cold.
  15. KlapperKnop, never loose sight of the fact that if the wind is blowing from the other side there is never an issue as no one wants to ride offroad. so all that must be done is that the riders need to be disaplined. The problem is addressed with the racing bunches in Cape Town by the whole bunch being stopped and/or disqualified. With the non racing bunches it is more difficult as the individual riders need to be DisQ'd. Ultimatly the "few at the front" need to plan to get away from the bunch and the problems will be solved. I think that the main problem up north is you dont get to play in the Southeaster is pomping.
  16. Did they change the route? I did it last year and it was flat. I should know I hate climbs. So watcha all complaining about it not being flat?

    Brales

Which brakes give you the best in all conditions?
  18. Oops, there goes the Clasic bit...... just American left.
  19. But Orca, you are not a heavyweight. will they last for me??
  20. Fats, do you thik those spliens in the crank will hold up under the weight??
  21. Thanks for your input, but i am still interested in what the ratios would be. Anyone have an idea? I think some ppl are talking about a 39/48 front and a 36/12 rear....Not so sure though.
