Other Friend of mine at work(Who has completed multiple IMSA's) mentioned that it fails on two criteria:

-Doesn't meet the minimum elevation gain requirement

-Start/Finish is not with the required distance from each other(Something like 400m maximum). This specifically put in place to prevent a point-to-point marathon.

I tried to verify by looking at whatever source I can find listing "Comrades Qualifying Races" and the race is not listed on a single one of those websites...

    Thus my concern

"The TRACN4 Elands Marathon, the most picturesque Comrades qualifier in Mpumalanga, is once again upon us. "

suunto device with wrist HR. goes through to suunto app via phone, syncs to strava and disco pulls it from there. HR data is there on the strava. and obviously works on the running.

Agreed think Fordyce would do a great Job (Bester aswell but don't think he would leave his Nedbank coaching)

The replies from Rowan are a joke looks like a high shcool child wrote the replies not the race director.

I was actually expecting  the "yo momma" insults to appear somewhere along the line

I work in the healthcare industry and am amazed at the functionality we have in these devices. It’s the future of healthcare I believe and will have functionality to predict various ailments and warn you. The tech and data is there already. Interesting space as populations increase and healthcare budgets decrease. Healthcare has to become smarter and wearable tech is a large part of the solution imho.

It's actually crazy how quickly these things have evolved. I remember upgrading from my Garmin 310xt (The orange brick) to Fenix3 HR and thinking how incredible this new thing is and that this must surely now be the pinnacle of what you can put in a sports watch. Not even 8 years on and ol' F3 feels like a Casio stopwatch compared to the new breed.

    Looks good.

one item I concur with DC on is the flashlight. I thought it just a gimmick but use it regularly these days. Will become a standard I reckon. So useful. One of those things you never knew you needed.

It was actually one of the main things that put me off getting the Epix and staying with the trusty old Fenix 3 (Waiting for the upgrade). The other feature I was keen on was the ECG functionality that should be along sooner rather than later once FDA certification is received

I have bought a second hand Garmin Fenix 5 and after a few sea swims the Altimeter/Barometer/Temperature reading just stopped or threw crazy numbers.

Now a more serious issue has arisen there is a drastic drop in battery, i.e. 1% per few minutes. Like it will last 3H from 100% charged.

What are my options here as the watch is clearly not in warranty stage.

I have hard/soft reset done factory reset ect

Bad news I'm afraid, my Fenix 3 did the same thing, one minute I'm running on Everest, the next I'm on the bottom of the ocean floor. Garmin couldn't fix, had to get a garmin trade-in replacement.

    WTF does Low-Ball mean anyway?

why is it so special the B gets capitals?

"Low-Ball" refers to the testicle hanging lowest in the scrotum. "High-Ball" obviously refers to the top one. No need to explain why it needs to be in caps, they are THAT special.

    Eish.

To late now. And if you keep looking you'll never buy.

One of the managers here has been watching the price on Takealot going down weekly, but wait to long and then there is no stock.

B.T,W. I've never heard of techglobal, are they legit.

No idea, just googled the same model and they popped up

So after waiting and waiting and the guy not responding to messages the wife got fedup and started looking around.

We landed up buying one of these from Takealot.

    rct-t-2000-trolley-a_d1ng.jpg?width=1026&height=1026

    Arrived yesterday.

So far it looks decent and nicely put together.

Left it charging the entire night (even though it indicated batteries are 100%, I decided to follow the instructions).

Plugged the wifes laptop etc. into it this morning, I need to get an extension cord to get the wifi and fibre onto it, and will probably also add TV to it.

Quite a bit cheaper than takealot https://techglobal.co.za/product/rct-megapower-2kva-2000w-inverter-trolley-with-2-x-100ah-batteries-black/

Well.... it is an "ARGENT" sale. Look, I know spelling is not everybody's forte, but really, I would expect a legit seller to be able to at least spell his own last name. If that is not enough of a red flag for anyone, nothing will be
