He was still so full of gees at the Durbie dash on the 16th October. Anyone have any idea what happened? RIP Carel.
where can I get details on the spice route passport that every entrant receives upon entering this race?
not all of them are awesome
not riding related but rather running related. Are trail runners allowed on the trails? I'm having to dodge them just about every weekend and strangely enough I always seem to encounter them in the ST. Actually took a tumble on Sunday past on a down hill blind corner because I had to leave the single track to avoid the runner . The dude didn't even stop to see if I was ok. There are more and more runners on the trails these days which is very dangerous to say the least.
jassis, some of you okes seem to have your panties in a knot already. cabin fever already setting in a couple of days before lock-down. I fear for the peoples lives residing with some of you hubbers. I think domestic violence is going to escalate.
They say, times like these, the bigger threat to human lives are people turning onto people rather than the virus itself. This thread has really proven that.
I will follow lock-down rules, so if we are allowed to walk the dog, jog I will do just that in a responsible way.
What I really want to know, are we allowed to cycle?
race postponed
race cancelled (covid 19)
bib's pls
How does the Hubbers feel about this? I think I have paid school fees in doing this.
I purchased cycling related items at a major retailer at last year's CTCT expo, having flown down from Johannesburg to CT. As most cyclists do, you wander around at the expo and are tempted by all the items on "special", which I succumbed to.
Now I am experiencing defects in said purchase, made contact with the dealer, but they now want me to courier the items to the CT greater area to their store for assessment, and I must also include the proof of purchase.
The item purchased probably is considered as a consumable, so I did not even think about keeping a receipt. I know that probably was a mistake on my part, but it wasn't a huge amount. If it was a high value item such as eg. a cycling GPS, wheels or cycling shoes, I definitely would have kept the receipt.
The lesson I have taken from this is to try and avoid purchases at an expo if the retailer is far away from my place of residence.
I am not going to elaborate on what I purchased, and I am neither going to say from which retailer I made this purchase. Doing this will serve no purpose. I probably made a mistake of not keeping my receipts, and I would think the dealer is within his rights to be afforded the opportunity to assess it and to ask for a proof of purchase.
I am just interested in the general opinion on making purchases when you are far away from the retailer.
You are 100% correct.
Plenty of ticks at the moment. Rode there this weekend and had to stop several times to remove dozens of them at every given time. Hate those buggers.
I managed to accidentally drop 2 gu gels, one empty gu wrapper and an energy shot without me even knowing. only realized once I tried to reach for another gel that all was lost. hands were too numb to even feel me losing my load. maybe this was the case for many droppings. I even saw sunglasses, gloves, wind vests, arm warmers, long sleeve cycling tops all over the place. the funny thing was that I took off with A batch and just over 100 cyclist finished ahead of me. I can well imagine what it looked like when the later batches passed.
I didn't notice that... Makes sense
looks like nasty sticky grease preventing those pawls from rising.
The problem is out of the box they are light. Then they only get heavier. By the time it's setup its 12kg
this is true
Hi guys. I am fairly new to mountain biking. Currently i am still riding a 3 x 7 setup and struggling a lot uphills with this setup. So now I am in the process of buying a new bike with a 1 x setup. The new bikes are coming out with 1 x 12 with a 34t x 50t setup.
At the bike shop they can swap the 34t chainring for a 32t or 30t. For a newbie, which chainring is the best to go for, without upgrading the chainring in the near future?
Thank you
every1 struggles when they start cycling irrespective of gearing. you will get stronger and fitter. However, that ratio you running is tough especially for some1 starting out. If you go with the 34T upfront you will have lot's more granny than you currently have.
I wouldn't go less than 32T upfront as you may find yourself popping unplanned wheelies going up steep climbs.
Start was very congested. Was told by fellow riders that all/most distances started at the same time. This created endless bottlenecks. Wasted lots of time if you started towards the back as I did.
now that you sold me a Kickr pls do me a deal on the Tickr
i briefly saw an ad in the classifieds about a group buy or something to that extent for wahoo kickr via cyclelab but can't seem to find it again - not sure if it is done & dusted.
Anyone know anything about this still or has it sailed.........
thnx
check CWC website. saw it there last week.
